MAIN OBJECTIVE:
The assignment aims to strengthen the capacity of agricultural farmers, NEET agricultural engineers, and DoA employees in Shekhan and Sumel districts through integrated coaching and training on business planning, proposal development, marketing strategies, market access, and value chain stakeholder coordination. The overall goal is to enable farmers to develop feasible business plans and strong project proposals, improve market linkages, and effectively engage with aggregation hubs and local markets.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Deliver a structured training program, including a 5-day training for NEET agricultural engineers and DoA employees at Domiz Youth Center (8 participants in total)
- Develop the curriculum and pre/poste test for the 5 days training. The curriculum should include the following topics: TRAINING ON MARKETING STRATEGIES, ACCESS TO MARKETS, AND VALUE CHAIN STAKEHOLDER COORDINATION
- Provide coaching, support and monitoring for the development of business plans for 100 agricultural farmers across the Shekhan and Sumel districts.
- Ensure 100 farmers finalize and send their business plan to AVSI
- Support AVSI technical team with the evaluation of the business plan
- Ensure inclusivity, with special attention to women farmers and vulnerable groups.

STUDIES REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in business coaching, mentoring, or advisory services, preferably for MSMEs, cooperatives, or farmer groups.
- Strong knowledge of business planning, financial management, costing, pricing, and market analysis.
- Experience supporting entrepreneurship and value-chain development, including market linkages.
- Ability to deliver practical, hands-on coaching tailored to small businesses and start-ups.
- Familiarity with inclusive business approaches (youth, women, smallholders) is an asset.
- Knowledge of Arabic and Kurdish. English is an added value.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in development or livelihoods programmes.
- IT skills: Ability to effectively use standard office software, such as MS Office (Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Exchange).
- Excellent communication skills in building relationships with local contacts.
