Description

 

Ashor Iraqi Foundation for Relief and Development (ARD) is seeking a highly qualified Media Specialist to support the implementation of media and communication activities under the project “From Control to Trust: Rebuilding Citizen–State Relations and Community Stability in Salah al‑Din.”

The Media Specialist will lead the development, review, and oversight of media content and strategies to ensure high‑quality, culturally sensitive, and policy‑compliant communication products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a project‑specific media and communication approach
  • Draft, edit, review, and approve media content, including newsletters, invitations, publications, and social media materials
  • Oversee social media content planning and dissemination
  • Ensure all media products comply with ARD branding, communication policies, and local context
  • Provide guidance and technical supervision to media staff and contributors
  • Monitor media trends and recommend innovative approaches
  • Ensure political, cultural, and contextual sensitivity in all outputs
  • Prepare and submit monthly media progress reports

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

 

  • Master’s degree in Media, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in media and communication
  • Previous experience with international organizations or media agencies preferred
  • Proven experience in media strategy development and content management
  • Strong understanding of Iraq’s socio‑political and cultural context
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Arabic and English
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity
