JOB DESCRIPTION
Aid Gate Organization (AGO) seeks a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Project Officer to support the implementation of activities aimed at building youth resilience and fostering social cohesion in Sinjar and Ba’aj. This project seeks to empower adolescents and youth as community peacebuilders. The Project Officer will play a key role in implementing project activities, managing resources, and ensuring the successful delivery of outcomes.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Implementation and Coordination
- Oversee the implementation of project activities, ensuring they align with project goals and timelines.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including government departments, facilitators and community leaders to foster collaboration and support
Youth Empowerment and Advocacy
- Provide ongoing mentorship, monitoring progress and supporting community
- Guide youth in developing and implementing small-scale community initiatives that promote social cohesion
- Encourage youth leaders to advocate in local forums and policy discussions
Stakeholder Engagement and Representation
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders
- Represent AGO at meetings to align project efforts with broader community objectives
- Facilitate communication between project participants, community leaders and other relevant stakeholders
- Address community concerns and feedback
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
- Collect and document data on project activities, including attendance, feedback and observed outcomes
- Analyze the impact of activities and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to highlight successes, challenges and lessons learned
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of all project-related activities
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development or related matter. A Master’s degree is an advantage
- Experience: minimum 3 years in project implementation, preferably in social cohesion and
- peacebuilding initiatives
- Language: fluency in Arabic and Kurdish is required; English is an advantage
- Strong understanding of youth-led initiatives, conflict resolution strategies and community-engagement methodologies
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain timelines and deliver high-quality results
- Regular travel to project sites within Ba’aj and Sinjar required
