Overall Objective of the position |
Contribute to the implementation of integrated Agribusiness and livelihood activities responding to climate change adaptation, Business development, and decision-making initiatives in districts of the Muthana governorate. This position will also be responsible for the implementation of the project and the management of the activities and staff. |

Objective 1: Improve agricultural productivity by promoting the adoption of more climate-responsive technologies in resource management
- Oversee farmers’ capacity-building activities such as Farmers Field School and Extension services. - Provide training to Train farmers to produce compost from plant and animal waste, water resource management, and Livestock meetings. - Support delivery, installation, and construction of agriculture assets such as irrigation systems, water harvesting, and installation of Standard Drip Irrigation System (SDI). -Supply Smart Irrigation techniques and Responsive Drip Irrigation (RDI) to promote the farmer association toward climate adaptation. - Capacity Building for the farmers on the adaptation and best practices in climate-impacted communities. - Lead training with Farmers Association (FA) followed by on-site coaching and supervision to capacitate FAs to lead independent extension services for smallholder farmers. - Support line manager in writing proposals, developing PMP, and conducting needs assessment as per proposal needs. - coordinate with government departments and agricultural sectors to implement activities in the best interest of SIF implementations. Objective 2: Oversee business support development initiatives
- develop trainings for beneficiaries including life skills, Business development skills, Food Processing, Packing, Branding, and Marketing in coordination with life skills and Marketing engagement officer - Support and deliver business development training to targeted youth and women. - Advocacy campaigns to support farmers impacted by climate change - Prepare and submit cash requests for grants and incentives. - Support provision of coaching and guidance to SMEs. - Provision of financial support to promote existing agribusinesses - following up with the procurement on the purchase requests.
Objective 3: To support women and youth in improving decision-making power. - Contribute to women and youth empowerment activities. - Support decision-making initiatives including community mobilization. - Organize Events and campaigns involving youth, women, and local stakeholders. - Contribute to strengthening Farmers Associations’ accountability and active participation in consultations and decision-making spaces.
Objective 4: Facilitate youth and women's needs identification, policy-making, and advocacy campaigns. - Conduct Rapid Care Analysis (RCA) with project participants to identify barriers to Women's Economic Empowerment at the household level. - Support design eligibility and vulnerability criteria based on assessment findings. - Participate in the physical beneficiaries’ selection process, in coordination With Meal - Support the development of community-based action plans to address climate change-related issues, led by CDCs and relevant stakeholders. - Support conducting workshops with relevant governmental actors to address the identified needs and the suggested plans - Support conducting proactive advocacy initiatives with the Directorate of Agriculture.
Objective 5: Reporting and means of verification - Prepare monthly reports of the activities in the field - Support the Line manager in the collection and organization of all the required means of verification - Report any incident or relevant occurrence to the supervisor
Objective 6: Other duties - Will promote the do no harm, across the project. - Communicate with all the beneficiaries of the project regarding activities' location and time - Follow up on the working plan submitted by the line manager. - Provide feedback to the community - Prepare weekly progress reports including technical comments/feedback - Supervise the use of security equipment during the rehabilitation activities - Any other tasks assigned by the line manager |
Qualification/Degree: |
University Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Water management, or related field preferred. |
Professional Experience: |
3 years of work experience in Food security and livelihood, WASH, Climate change, or relevant field. |
Technical Skills: |
Strong knowledge of the intervention area Good computer knowledge Strong agriculture and livestock knowledge Strong water management knowledge and experience. Good knowledge and understanding of humanitarian crisis issues Experience in cash transfer programming including unconditional cash grants, agriculture and livelihood, business grants, etc. Understanding small business, business planning, and business management. |
