Description

Context/Reporting line:

 

Under the general supervision of the Head, Peacebuilding and Stabilization Division, the overall supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator (Peace Bld& Stabl) and the direct supervision of the Programme Officer (Transitional Justice), the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of activities related to strengthening of the MHPSS response to related by performing the following functions and responsibilities:

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities

 

  1. Assist the smooth and timely rollout of the Directorate’s MHPSS Referral Mechanism.
  2. Assist the Directorate with needs assessments, service quality monitoring and evaluation of MHPSS services and service providers within the Directorate’ Referral System.
  3. Conduct regular field visits, coaching, need assessments and monitoring of the MHPSS service providers who are part of the Directorate’s referral system.
  4. Facilitate roll-out, implementation and monitoring of IOM sub-grants to NGO and INGOs service providers within YSL framework.
  5. Support the process of development of the strategic plan for provision of services to beneficiaries of YSL for 2025-2027.
  6. Conduct service mapping of local MHPSS resources including NGOs and INGOs, for easy referrals to survivor-centered services.
  7. Initiate and facilitate MHPSS training and other capacity building initiatives (e.g. safe and informed interactions with survivors) for the Directorate, the MoH, and MHPSS partners as well as service providers.
  8. Monitor and share information about the relevant institutional and civil society initiatives regarding MHPSS for survivors covered by YSL, and other survivors of mass crimes, in Iraq and KRI with the Transitional Justice and MHPSS teams withing PSD.
  9. Coordinate with the MHPSS and Transitional Justice staff to ensure smooth project implementation, addressing any concerns quickly and effectively.
  10. Ensure that confidentiality and the right to privacy is maintained with regard to confidential projects and beneficiary information.
  11. Oversee all logistic and procurement needs of trainings, awareness raising sessions and assessments conducted.
  12. 1Oversee the maintenance of project documentation, data collection and information, including the preparation of Arabic and English translations of technical documents and ongoing activities tracking through internal tracking tools.
  13. In accordance with structured reporting requirements and informal reporting needs, prepare clear and concise reports of all activities undertaken.
  14. Work with other MHPSS field staff to support MHPSS services delivery to survivors and other vulnerable groups.
  15. Ensure that hardcopy and electronic information systems are maintained, particularly the important notes of all key monitoring, implementation, and coordination activities.
  16. Perform other relevant duties assigned, and in line with the above tasks and competencies of the candidate.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Required Qualifications

 

Education:

 

  • Master’s degree in psychology, Educational Psychology, or other relevant social sciences with 2 years of relevant professional experience in the humanitarian or development sector field or;
  • Bachelor’s degree in the above-mentioned fields with 4 years of work experience in the field.

Experience and Skills:

 

  • Experience in capacity building of local NGOs and psychosocial programmes.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to engage governmental and non-governmental actors.
  • Experience in conducting community engagement activities such as awareness raising sessions and community needs assessment.
  • Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of people including people of culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in managing and chairing coordination working groups/cluster meetings is a strong asset.
  • Previous experience in monitoring and evaluation of psychosocial programme activities.

 

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
  • Working knowledge of Kurdish is an advantage.
