Job Title: Mentorship Expert – (Business Grant Component)
Location: Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Duhok
Reports to: Project Coordinator

Project Summary:
Women Empowerment Organization, in partnership with GIZ, funded by BMZ, is implementing “Building Economic Stability for Returnees and Vulnerable Groups in KRI” project. The focus is on returnees. This project aims to provide tailored training in soft skills, employability, business management, job placement, and entrepreneurship support to enable beneficiaries to become self-reliant, reintegrated into society, and contribute to the economic growth of Iraq.
Position Summary:
The Mentorship Expert will support the implementation of the Livelihood Program by providing mentorship and guidance to beneficiaries who have received business grants. The role is focused on enhancing beneficiaries' entrepreneurial capacities, ensuring the sustainability of their businesses, and supporting income generation through structured mentorship activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide one-on-one and group mentorship sessions to business grant recipients.
· Develop and implement tailored mentorship plans based on each beneficiary’s business type, capacity, and growth potential.
· Monitor and evaluate business performance and provide practical advice for improvement.
· Identify challenges faced by beneficiaries and propose actionable solutions to increase business viability.
· Collaborate with business trainers to reinforce business management knowledge delivered during training sessions.
· Guide beneficiaries in areas such as marketing, customer service, financial management, procurement, and inventory control.
· Support beneficiaries in developing business growth strategies.
· Maintain regular field visits to track progress and provide on-site support.
· Document mentorship sessions, success stories, and lessons learned.
· Contribute to project reporting and evaluation processes by providing timely data and feedback.
· Coordinate with the Livelihoods team to ensure proper integration of mentorship with the broader grant support services.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Economics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
· At least 3 years of relevant experience in business development, coaching, or mentorship—preferably in livelihood or humanitarian contexts.
· Strong knowledge of micro and small business operations in fragile or post-conflict settings.
· Experience working with returnees, women, and youth is highly desirable.
· Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to analyze business performance and deliver actionable recommendations.
· Fluency in English, Arabic, and Kurdish
Desirable Skills:
· SIYB or similar entrepreneurship certification is a plus.
· Ability to use digital tools for business tracking and reporting.
· Cultural sensitivity and experience working in diverse communities.
