Description

SWEDO is a Swedish non-profit, non-political, non-religious development aid organization that was founded in 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden. Having continuously operated in the Kurdistan Region ever since, SWEDO’s main priorities of work are construction and infrastructure activities, refugee and IDP initiatives, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and capacity building.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and implement the distribution of Cash Based Interventions, NFI and Food items including site selection, site preparation or registration status, distribution, re-stocking, crowd and the verification handling of supervisor volunteers on site complaints;
  • Supporting the Helpline/distribution teams and guiding the focal point of each team
  • Acting a lease between the Snr. Program Officer/Deputy Head of Office and the helpline operators and data entry staff;
  • Coordination with local authorities, administrative bodies, camp management and checkpoints.
  • Develop and help the distribution team leader in the planning of distribution.
  • Writing reports on the distribution process in a timely manner upon request;
  • Making sure the staff has all the requirements/equipment necessary for the distribution process;
  • Ensuring good visibility of SWEDO and the donor in the distribution site;
  • Making sure that the staff are following the procedure and instructions and the implementation of the project is according to the SoPs;
  • Making sure that the community is informed of the date, location and eligibility requirement for the distribution if required, participate in the initial needs assessment to help the program gain a better understanding of the scope and location of crisis
  • Promptly identify and recommend solutions to technical issues;
  • Monitor progress against work plan, promptly identifying any current or potential delays distribution;
  • Fully comply with SWEDO safety and security procedures and provide input to security monitoring and assessments to enable and promote a safe and secure environment for program implementation;
  • Collect and compile key distribution data including registration lists, distribution lists and distribution reports;
  • Strengthen relations with the government stakeholders for better coordination;
  • Participate in meetings with donors;
  • Manage staff inside the office as well as in the fields;
  • Strong communication with direct supervisor
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor Degree in Human Science or project management;
  • Minimum two years’ experience in the same position or emergency programming, distribution, logistics or community outreach preferred;
  • Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic and English languages;
  • NGO experience preferred and proven abilities to work with host and IDP;
  • Work well in and promotes teamwork, strong community outreach skills detail-oriented, honest, flexible and able to handle pressure well;
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds;
  • Ability to handle confidential matters, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, and drive for results;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in addition to organizational skills.
