BACKGROUND
People in Need (PIN) is an international, non-profit organization providing humanitarian and development assistance in over 20 countries worldwide. Formed in 1992 in the Czech Republic, PIN has grown to be the biggest organisation of its kind in post-communist Europe, providing relief where it is needed, and empowering civil society at home and abroad. PIN began its work in Iraq in 2003, mainly in response to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the country and the massive displacement of people from conflict-affected areas. Since then, PIN has maintained a strong presence in Iraq.
Apart from humanitarian aid, PIN is currently working on long-term programmes supporting restoring livelihoods, education, climate change, and civil society & good governance programming (CSIG).
POSITION SUMMARY:
The School supervisor, Part-time, will support the Education program team in the daily implementation of education programming in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The School supervisor will learn and support arrangements of the program activities (such as organizing PTA meetings, administratively supporting the implementation of remedial classes and climate awareness campaigns, …), and their monitoring and visibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in coordinating field activities as assigned by filed officer and Education and Child Protection Manager;
- Supporting the supervision/ monitor/ observe of education activities carried out by school personnel, facilitators and community members in the project locations.
- Stand on Supporting, and coordination with PTA groups at the schools, and ensure the overall PTA initiatives / activities well organized and been meet accordingly.
- Work closely with field team reaching out to stockholders (mainly school staff) to collect data for maintaining the project database;
- Assisting in the distribution of various learning and teaching kits and materials;
- Logistic Assistance for the Education team in organizing a training on psychosocial support for teachers and community members, including follow-up activities in project schools (after receiving the training in the office).
- Assist in ensuring that program related documents and Means of Verifications comply with PIN’s internal procedures and donor requirements;
- Assisting in any other duties requested by the Project Coordinator or other line managers.
GENERAL EMPLOYEES OBLIGATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Employer stipulates the right to assign the Employee any other kind of work derived from his specialization. In case of urgent work and such like the Employee may be asked to work overtime as well as during public and other holidays.

Punctual attendance to work, including both working hours in the assigned office and scheduling field trips if applicable.

Correctness and completeness of given tasks.

The Employee takes over the responsibility for all entrusted material or cash. The Employee is obligated to cover all damages or losses caused by his carelessness. The Agreement of Liability of Assets has been signed separately.

Promptly providing all relevant information to their supervisor.

Maintain confidentiality of all information gained from employment within not publicly available.

Archiving of all entrusted and acquired documents in proper manner.

Representing and upholding the values of People in Need at all times.

EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree.
- 0-2 years of work experience.
- Good language skills are required: English (Intermediate), Arabic, and Kurdish- krmanji (Advanced). to support reporting inputs and coordination.
- Good command of the MS Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint),
- Flexibility, dedication, and result-driven,
- Good communication and presentation skills, and the capacity to work under pressure.
Other Requirements:
- Support supervision of education activities, including online and distance learning.
- Support the Prog. Office team, providing the information, and keep them updated duly.
- Assist the M&E Officer with data collection and database monitoring, kit and material distribution.
- Help organize and follow up on teacher/community PSS.
- Coordinate field activities as assigned.
- Support liaison with local authorities and stakeholders.
- Ensure documents comply with PIN and donor.
- Assist with other tasks as needed.
- Stand on, organize, arrange, and facilitate the related program field activities, both at the school level or the community level.
