Brief description of the organization
Yazda Iraq is a local organization registered in both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It operates as a subsidiary of the global Yazda organization and adheres to the same mission: supporting vulnerable communities, particularly those affected by genocide and mass atrocities. In Iraq/KRI, Yazda implements programs focused on advocacy, legal assistance, humanitarian aid, and community and survivor empowerment initiatives. The Country Director leads these efforts, ensuring they align with organizational goals and respond effectively to local needs.

Background The Yazda Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Project provides integrated primary healthcare services—including non-communicable disease (NCD) and mental health (MH) care—to conflict-affected populations in Sinjar. The project operates in coordination with the Ninewa Directorate of Health (DoH) and supported by Stichting Vluchteling (SV). The MMU Nurse plays a key role in ensuring high-quality service delivery, adherence to medical protocols, and coordination between the field medical team and Yazda’s central health management.
Job Purpose The MMU Nurse is responsible for supporting physicians in providing clinical services, managing patient care, conducting health education sessions, and ensuring that medicines and medical supplies are appropriately handled and recorded. The Nurse also collaborates closely with the Mental Health Counselor, Community Health Officer, and Pharmacist to provide holistic patient-centered care.
Main Responsibilities

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing (recognized by the Ministry of Health).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in primary healthcare or humanitarian projects.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of NCD management, MH first aid, and patient-centered care.
- Language: Proficiency in Arabic and Kurdish (Kurmanji); English is an asset.
- Other Skills: Strong teamwork, empathy, communication, and data recording accuracy.
- Preferred: Experience working in the Sinjar District or with Yazda/MMU projects.
