Aim of the position:
The objective of this position is to support the implementation of the employment and job placement activities of the project “InGrowth (Inclusive Work and Growth): Pathways for economic development and job inclusion (AICS 13100/01/0)” in the assigned project area.
The Job Placement Officer will contribute to strengthening the link between vocational training beneficiaries and the local labour market, supporting beneficiaries throughout their transition from training to internships and employment opportunities.
The position will involve direct work with beneficiaries, Vocational Training Centres (VTCs), local companies and other relevant labour-market actors, with particular attention to vulnerable groups, including young people, women and persons with disabilities.
Under Result 1, the project foresees mentoring activities for 1,280 vocational training participants and 352 three-month professional internships, with support on CV preparation, interview skills and connections with local businesses.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
The selected expert will be responsible for:
- Supporting mentoring, career guidance and job placement activities for vocational training beneficiaries, including CV preparation, interview preparation and job-search support.
- Assessing beneficiaries’ skills and employment interests and supporting their matching with suitable internship and employment opportunities.
- Identifying and maintaining contacts with local companies, SMEs and other private-sector actors that may offer internships or job opportunities.
- Working closely with the Private Sector Engagement Specialist and project team to monitor labour-market opportunities and strengthen links between beneficiaries and employers.
- Supporting the identification of suitable host companies and the selection and placement of beneficiaries for the three-month internship programme.
- Following up with beneficiaries, VTCs and host companies before and during internships, supporting mentoring, addressing implementation issues and collecting feedback.
- Promoting inclusive and non-discriminatory employment practices, with particular attention to women, youth and persons with disabilities.
- Supporting networking activities, meetings with employers, job fairs and other activities aimed at strengthening employment opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to beneficiaries, companies, internships, placements and employment outcomes.
- Coordinating with the MEAL team on monitoring, reporting and post-internship follow-up, including tracer study activities.
- Preparing regular activity updates and reports and carrying out any other related tasks required for project implementation.

Essential requirements:
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Human Resources, Social Sciences, Development Studies or another relevant field.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in employment services, career guidance, job placement, livelihoods, vocational training, private-sector engagement or similar activities.
- Previous experience working directly with beneficiaries and/or private-sector companies.
- Good understanding of the local labour market and employment context in the assigned governorate.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with employers, companies or business networks.
- Fluency in Arabic.
- Good working knowledge of English.
- Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
