Description

Detailed Responsibilities

 

  • He understands and adheres to SOP’s and drills and procedures
  • He is correctly briefed and understands his responsibilities and duties
  • He carries out his duties as directed
  • He has the right equipment and stores to carry out his operational duties
  • He correctly uses and maintains all equipment in his charge in compliance with SOPs
  • Any deficiencies of, or faults or problems with equipment in his charge, should be reported to the team leader as soon as possible
  • He wears the required protective clothing for the task in the correct manner in compliance with SOP’s
  • That his actions do not prejudice the safety, security or professional standing of MAG and it employees (as per the MAG contract of employment)
  • He works as part as a team and helps to foster team spirit
  • He is able to travel and remain in the field when necessary
  • He carries out any other operational tasks as directed to meet operational requirements
  • He understands the duties and responsibilities of the Mine Action Team Leader.
  • He carries out the duties and responsibilities of the MAT Leader, as required.
  • He should be able to work and run tasks independently. i.e. act as Mat team leader. Then he should act as TL.
  • He carries out a minimum 25% QA checks of all sub-team under his command or as directed.
  • He should be able to drive MAG owned cars for operations purposes.

 

General Responsibilities

  • He/ She is expected to maintain a professional conduct in line with MAG’s core values since his/her
  • Contribute to other fundraising initiatives where appropriate.
  • Participate in meetings where relevant.
  • Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise.
  • Work in compliance with MAG’s Policies, including but not limited to,Equal Opportunities, Code of Conduct and Dignity at Work Policies.
  • Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development program
  • Undertake any other duties as may be required.

 

 

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Person selection criteria

  • An understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work.
  • Must have relevant experience in mine action.
  • The candidate should have EOD Level 2 and Team Leader certifications.
  • The candidate should be literate.
  • Should have unified NID.
  • A driver’s license might an advantage.
