The driver is responsible for safely transporting ARD staff and for ensuring that the vehicle is properly operated and maintained in line with safe-driving standards, local traffic regulations, and ARD fleet policies and procedures. Duties include:

Provide reliable, safe and secure vehicle and driving services.
•
Ensure proper and responsible use of the vehicle.
•
Carry out day-to-day vehicle maintenance and ensure the vehicle is fuelled on time for all approved trips.
•
Maintain accurate daily vehicle and movement logs and support cost-effective vehicle use.
•
Wash the vehicle and check its cleanliness daily.
•
Ensure availability and validity of required documents and supplies, including vehicle insurance, vehicle logbook, office directory, city/country map, first-aid kit and necessary spare parts.
•
Accept additional responsibilities assigned by the line manager or an authorized coordinator, including hands-on activities at project sites.
•
Use ARD equipment, vehicles, premises, internet and electricity economically and responsibly, and positively represent ARD to beneficiaries, stakeholders and the public.

Essential

• Iraqi nationality.
• At least three years of professional driving experience.
• Valid driving licence.
• Vehicle model year 2020 or newer.
• Vehicle odometer reading below 100,000 km.
• Valid and up-to-date vehicle documents.
• Working knowledge of Arabic is mandatory with local languages.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in unstable, uncertain or potentially dangerous environments.
• Valid durability/safety inspection card.

Desirable

• Basic logistics experience.
• Secondary-school education.
• Ability to travel between governorates when required.
• Ability to cover movements from whole country (Iraq).

4. Contract Details

• Contract period: 3 months, from 01 October 2026 to 31 December 2026.
• Estimated number of trips: 100 trips during the contract period.

5. Payment and Running Cost

• ARD will pay IQD 400 (four hundred Iraqi dinars) for each kilometre actually travelled and approved in the movement log.
• The IQD 400 per-kilometre rate is all-inclusive and covers fuel, vehicle maintenance, repairs, consumables and the driver’s service/compensation. No separate payment will be made for these items unless ARD approves it in writing in advance.
• Payment will be calculated on the basis of approved kilometres recorded in the daily movement log.
• Payment will be processed at the end of each month after submission, verification and approval of the movement log by the authorized ARD representative.
• Only official and pre-authorized trips will be eligible for payment.
