Project Summary: The project of “Community Engagement to Reduce Irregular Migration from Kurdistan Region of Iraq” aims to reduce the incidence of irregular migration from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to the UK and France by fostering informed decision-making and empowering local communities. The project addresses key information gaps by supporting youth to think critically about the risks and realities of irregular migration. It promotes trust in safe, legal, and locally available opportunities for employment and training, aiming to shift community perceptions toward credible alternatives. Additionally, the project strengthens the capacity and motivation of community leaders and influencers to drive effective, grassroots-level dialogue, reduce the social acceptability of smuggling, and disrupt the influence of smuggling networks.

Job Summary: The Project Coordinator will oversee the overall implementation of the project, ensuring that all activities are executed effectively, on time, and within budget. This role involves coordinating across various outputs, liaising with stakeholders and partners, ensuring seamless communication between teams, and maintaining alignment with operational, communication, and evaluation strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the day-to-day coordination and implementation of the project activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.

· Develop and manage comprehensive project work plans, budgets, and monitoring frameworks to guide execution.

· Monitor progress against targets and contribute to learning and adaptation.

· Ensure compliance with donor requirements and maintain accurate documentation.

· Supervise field staff, including Team Leaders and Field Assistants, ensure roles are clearly defined and supported for effective collaboration.

· Organize regular check-ins with team members to address challenges and enhance coordination.

· Foster a positive and productive team environment, promoting innovation and problem-solving.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community groups, donors, and other stakeholders.

· Represent the project at external events, including meetings, conferences, and forums, advocating for the project’s goals and promoting policy changes.

· Prepare high-quality narrative reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and consortium partners.

· Document and disseminate lessons learned, best practices, and challenges to inform future program design.

· Identify potential risks to project implementation and ensure compliance with organizational and donor policies.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications and Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

· Minimum 5 years of experience managing multi-stakeholder development or migration-related projects.

· Familiarity with migration, community engagement, or behavioral change programming is highly desirable.

· Proven ability to manage diverse teams and multiple activities simultaneously.

· Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent report-writing and documentation abilities.

· Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Proficiency in Kurdish and English (Arabic is a plus).
