Description

Purpose:

WFWI is seeking to identify a photographer, preferable female photographer, to collect high-quality videos and photographs of Women for Women International’s adolescent girls' program, Men’s Engagement Program (MEP), SWSN program and Change Agent programs in Erbil, Ninewa and Duhok for use in marketing, fundraising and communications collaterals.     

Assignment Overview:

Each time the photographer receives assignment details of each event with clear purpose and outline of the content(s) she will be required to deliver. Contents could include videos, photos, interview clips and b-roll per the deliverables

The photographer/videographer will work closely with Women for Women International’s country program team to capture authentic, ethical, and engaging visual stories.

 

Deliverables:

For each assignment, deliverables will be further specified but overall, they could include:

  • Interviews (shot in landscape) with program participants – focusing on understanding their life before the program, why they joined, what they have learned so far, and how they are using their knowledge and the plans they have after graduation. (Interview questions and instructions on how to film will be sent separately). P
  • Photos of program participants at locations that reflect their personality and aspirations. This may include her home, training center, or around the village or a school.
  • Photos and B-roll of various program participants at a training center with their books, in a training session with other girls. Also take photos of them learning different vocational skills
  • A day in the life of an adolescent girl in WfWI’s program in Erbil. Capture the video of how they start their day, interact with trainers and other girls, etc. Reel-type video for social media.
  • Photos and videos of a program participant who will each be featured in individual success stories.
  • Photos and videos from graduation ceremonies.
  • Editing of videos.

 

Timing:

Edited photos and videos to be delivered to Women for Women International two days after each event via a Dropbox link which will be sent to the photographer. 

 

Budget 

Provide a detailed budget that includes: 

  • Photography fees/daily rate 
  • Travel and accommodation (if necessary). 

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience working with women and children in a conflict context.
  • Able to travel and have the ability to communicate with program participants.
  • Cultural and language competence, particularly Kurdish and Arabic.
