GLOBAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Under the responsibility of the Project Officer Project Manager Victim Assistance (POVA) for Tikrit, the Physiotherapist Trainer (PT Trainer) will contribute to ensure a high-level physiotherapy service quality delivered by both Handicap International and its partners to people in need.
RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS DESCRIPTION
Training and Capacity Building
- Conduct necessary assessments of DoH and supported health facilities staff (General training assessment, individual technical skills assessment, baseline/endline, etc.).
- Develop a comprehensive training package (including guidelines resources, training materials and supports, case studies, training presentations, etc.) under the supervision of HI Technical Unit Rehabilitation department as well as in close collaboration with other HI Technical Unit departments (MHPSS, Inclusion, etc.).
- Develop a training plan for the DoH and supported health facilities staff as per the identified needs and priorities, following HI guidelines and standards.
- Implement the training plan (Prepare, organize and deliver the trainings, update and adapt the training plan, coordinate with the targeted facilities, etc.)
- Develop, organize and provide on the job coaching to supported health facilities staff.as per HI Guidelines and standards.
- Support the Project Officer with relevant logistics and administrative paperwork and arrangement to implement the training and on the job coaching plan as per HI guidelines and regulations (procurement request, movement request, cash request, equipment use, etc.).
Access to Quality Rehabilitation Services
- Contribute to rehabilitation unit assessment (Assessment design, implementation and reporting)
- Contribute to design, develop, follow-up and implement customized support action plans to targeted rehabilitation unit (Support about capacity building, equipment, materials and consumables provision, patient pathway development, accessibility to and within the health facilities, etc.)
- Contribute to develop the HI rehabilitation strategy in Tikrit (Conduct analysis and assessment, provide recommendations about ongoing and future activities, explore way of improvement and development, etc.).
- Support the Cash for Rehab activity implemented by the Access to Rehab team
- Support the assessment phase with technical expertise
- Monitor the quality of rehabilitation services provided by health facilities involved in this specific program
- Monitor the screening of Cash for Rehab beneficiaries
Monitoring and Reporting
- Conduct regular monitoring (including regular field visit) as per HI guidelines and regulations.
- Archive all sources of verification as per HI guidelines and regulations.
- Report any technical issues faced to POVA Project Manager and Rehabilitation Technical Coordinator along with suggestions for improvements
- Report any issues faced on the field.
- Provide relevant feedback and analysis on the impact of the trainings.
- Contribute to the analysis of the data extracted from project monitoring tools
- Submit data required for reports and updates as required.
Coordination and Communication
- Maintain a strong link with the Rehabilitation Technical Coordinator, the other Technical Unit departments (MHPSS, Inclusion, MEAL team and the Access to Rehab team.
- Maintain a strong coordination with support services (Administration, Finance, HR, Logistics, etc.).
- Ensure appropriate and effective communication and collaboration with any external stakeholders (authorities, communities’ representatives, beneficiaries, health facilities staff, financial service providers, humanitarian community, etc.) in the area of intervention.
- Attend relevant working groups and clusters
- Upon PMVA approval, provide direct rehabilitation to persons in need, on the site of intervention, under the technical supervision of the Rehabilitation Technical Coordinator.

REQUIRED PROFILE
Knowledge
Education: Degree diploma in Physiotherapy
Languages: Excellent Arabic (mandatory), English (strong asset)
Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in trauma management
- Experience as a trainer of adults in field of expertise
- Experience in supervision and/or development of IEC material desirable
Know-how (practices) & Interpersonal skills (attitudes)
- Strong communication and creative facilitation skills
- Strong reporting skills
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under high pressure
- Basic computer skills demonstrated experience in utilization of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint in particular.
