About Aid Gate Organization "AGO"

Aid Gate Organization (AGO) is an independent national NGO in Iraq, committed to supporting Internally Displaced Persons, returnees, and vulnerable communities across all Iraqi cities and governorates. With operations in key regions such as Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, Anbar, Nineveh, Diyala, and Basra, AGO focuses on rebuilding lives and promoting inclusivity for all, including minorities and persons with disabilities.

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Outreach Worker to support AGO in implementing a community-based initiative to strengthen the resilience of adolescents in Sinjar and Ba’aj. The Outreach Worker will work closely with local communities, schools, and youth groups to identify and mobilize participants, ensure their safe participation, and follow up with them after the sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize and register participants in each location (Sinjar and Ba’aj), ensuring gender balance and inclusion of vulnerable youth.
  • Coordinate with schools, youth centers, community leaders, and local authorities to identify eligible adolescents.
  • Support logistical arrangements for the orientation sessions, including venue setup, materials distribution, refreshments, and transportation (if needed).
  • Act as a liaison between adolescents, facilitators, and the project team before, during, and after the sessions.
  • Assist the facilitators during interactive activities and ensure the safety and engagement of all participants.
  • Provide support in monitoring attendance, distributing awareness materials, and collecting feedback from participants.
  • Follow up with participants post-session to reinforce learning and refer any cases of concern to the appropriate support channels.
  • Reporting Line

    The Outreach Worker will report directly to the Project Officer, providing daily updates and final reports to ensure alignment with project objectives

  • Expected outcomes

    • 200 adolescents (100 per location) participate in structured orientation sessions on security risks
    • Increased awareness among adolescents on how to recognize and respond to threats such as recruitment or substance abuse
    • Enhanced collaboration between adolescents, local security teams, and community stakeholders
    • Improved adolescent protection outcomes in Sinjar and Baa’j
Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in community mobilization, youth engagement, or outreach work.
  • Strong understanding of the local context, including security risks and youth vulnerabilities in Sinjar and Ba’aj
  • Experience working with adolescents and knowledge of child protection principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with young people
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often under pressure
  • Fluency in Arabic and Kurdish
  • Commitment to humanitarian values, gender equality, and child safeguarding
  • Work Conditions

    • Frequent travel between Sinjar and Ba’aj may be required.
    • Field-based role with community interaction and direct engagement with adolescents
