Background
The Pharmacy Team of the Health Department is dedicated to providing technical and pharmaceutical supply chain management and delivery support to the health program. Aiming to maintain a solid and reliable supply of pharmaceutical items: medicines, medical equipment and consumables to health facilities supported or operated by the health team. In addition to monitoring and reporting of the currently available stock within the pharmacies and transit storage facilities to support International Medical Corps humanitarian activities in Iraq.
Job Purpose
Under the line management of Pharmacist officer, the Medical Commodities Assistant supports his/her supervisor in the proper management of medical stocks and warehousing practices in Jada’a 4 transit storage area and other supported sites in Nineveh as required.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist supervisor in proper documentation of all warehousing operations including filing systems as per IMC procedures:
- Incoming and outgoing documentation, storage documentations
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining the physical conditions of the stocks, storage conditions and report to supervisor for any issues such as:
- Temperature monitoring recording three times daily, warehouse cleanliness, separation of damaged/expired drugs, presence and functioning of safety equipment in collaboration with the security team
- Inform supervisor of any quality changing of medication.
- Assist in arranging and managing medical storage area by internationally accepted standard practices including good storage practice (GSP), tracking expiration dates, First In, First Out policy
- Make sure that all products are labeled appropriately according to IMC procedures and regulations.
- Assist, when required, in facilitating annual stock count, periodical spot check and quality control
- Perform physical works that may involve lifting and moving bulky items across the warehouse floor using mechanical equipment such as forklifts.
- Pack, sort, stack, organize, label and store stock in proper locations
- Receive incoming shipments from vendors to the reception area and final storage locations, Prepare outgoing shipments from storage area to dispatch areas
- Ensure quality control of goods coming in and going out of the warehouse according to IMC procedures and regulations.
- Ensure that the correct quantity has been received by comparing received goods with information on the work order according to IMC procedures and regulations.
- Inspect equipment and requests for repair or requisition when necessary and
- Ensure that warehouse workers comply with the IMCs safety and security procedures
- Other activities related to warehouse operational activities as tasked by supervisor.

Candidates’ Specifications
Qualifications
Essential:- Bachelor in pharmacy or Diploma in pharmacy technical institute as a Pharmacist or an assistant pharmacist.
Desirable:- Bachelor in pharmacy is preferred.
Experience
Essential:- At least 1 year of professional experience in pharmacy management and/or medical warehousing support.
Desirable:-
- Previous demonstrated experience in a similar role; preferably with International Medical Corps or any International Organization.
- IT experience with warehouse management software.
- Relevant qualifications or training courses.
Competency
- A proven track record within the warehousing and stock management
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Evidence of ability to work in a participatory manner
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel (minimum requirement).
- Proficiency in English and Arabic. Able to produce a report in English.
Other
Essential:- Be able to travel within Nineveh.
Desirable:- Preferably KRI access.
