Job Description:

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Manager manages information and reporting processes and products to ensure professional, high-quality communication.

The MEAL Manager will assume responsibility for full-cycle monitoring and evaluation of KOHRW programs, developing appropriate methodologies and tools to design evaluations.

Job Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and assess monitoring frameworks for all KOHRW partnerships and projects, as well as for funding proposals.
  • Develop the overall framework for project M&E systems in collaboration with donor and senior project staff, including requirements, reporting, baseline, and evaluation surveys; develop and monitor project management plan to systematically document performance.
  • Manage the performance of direct reports in the MEAL unit through performance
  • management, coaching, mentoring, training and development
  • Conduct field visits for data validation and to monitor the quality and completeness of data sets; coordinate data collection at project sites to monitor program development and ensure timely compilation and reporting of data; capture and document lessons learned; and champion the scaling up best practices.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and training new M&E staff.
  • Coordinate responses to requests for information.
  • Responsible to ensure that KOHRW delivers on all internal M&E requirements in programmes in a timely manner and with high quality information.
  • Any other tasks required by Supervisor or KOHRW head office.

Other professional skills required:

  1. Expertise in project cycle management, detailed knowledge of concepts, processes and tools, and experience in developing, planning and implementing systems
  2. University degree education and additional training in Monitoring and Evaluation.
  3. Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams in the M&E field
  4. Knowledge of and experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods in the humanitarian aid/development sector. Experience in collecting and analysing data
  5. Experience in preparing, planning and monitoring consultations in the M&E field
  6. Awareness and knowledge of ethical issues related to M&E: do no harm and sensitivity to gender and diversity
  7. Excellent skills with mobiled data collection (ODK/KoBo tool box), database management,information management systems,statistical analysis and report writing.
