Duties (Summary)
Under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the Local Guard Force (LGF) Interpreter/Translator serves as the main communications link (English, Kurdish, and Arabic languages) for the Regional Security Office (RSO) with U.S. Consulate General security staff members, host-nation security support, and daily visitors to the consulate compound. The incumbent will also fill in, on a regular basis, the normal duties of an LGF Dispatcher, a Senior Guard, and/or a Security Guard.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Education
Completion of secondary school is required. (12-years of study)
Prior Work Experience
One (1) year of experience in interpreting or translating from Kurdish and Arabic to English and vice versa is required.
Language Required
English level III (Good Working Knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. (This May be Tested)
Kurdish level IV (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. (This May be Tested)
Arabic level IV (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. (This May be Tested)
