Description

SWEDO is a Swedish non-profit, non-political, non-religious development aid organization that was founded in 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden. Having continuously operated in the Kurdistan Region ever since, SWEDO’s main priorities of work are construction and infrastructure activities, refugee and IDP initiatives, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and capacity building.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Inclusion Officer will plan, coordinate and implement all programs geared towards the wellbeing of people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGI).
  • The Inclusion Officer will manage the people with specific needs (PSN) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGI) unit and coordinate with other outreach and communication with communities (CWC) departments.
  • The Inclusion Officer will head age, gender and diversity mainstreaming in the overall project and ensure all activities follow diversity and inclusion minimum requirements.
  • The Inclusion Officer will organize and supervise all activities planned for the people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs) and ensure efficient and effective access to services in consideration to the set standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for identification of needs of people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs) through conducting different means of information gathering including but not limited to community consultation, key informant interview and any other relevant methods where appropriate.
  • Ensure that people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs) can access services at the program and available public services.
  • Inclusion Officer will be responsible for the distribution of assistive devices and other basic necessities (if any) to people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs).
  • Engage in the design and organizing of community outreaches and conduct awareness to support people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs).
  • Network and collaborate with the key stakeholders to address the issues of people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs).
  • Refer people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs) for appropriate services available.
  • Organize and conduct protection activities for people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs) including the participation of people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs) in social events.
  • Provide information and guidance to people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs) (individuals and in group) to enhance their protection.
  • Provide support to the groups of people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGIs) to strengthen their coping in the urban.
  • Enhance the capacity building of the relevant SWEDO staff (Outreach Team Leader’s and Assistance and Complaint and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) staff), Community Outreach Volunteers (COV’s), Refugee Welfare Committee (RWC) and Self Governance Community Committee (SGCC) members in terms of how to identify and address people with specific needs (PSNs) and Diverse Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SSOGI) cases.
  • Compile timely weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and specific activity reports and work plans
  • Actively participate in meetings, information dissemination sessions, special events and any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor Degree in international relations, Project Management or Law;
  • At least three years experience in the same position or field;
  • Fluency in Kurdish, English and Arabic languages;
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds;
  • Ability to handle confidential matters, meet deadlines and work under pressure;
  • Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, and drive for results.
