Description

Shareteah Humanitarian Organization (SHO) is an Iraqi National NGO promoting safety & development through mine action and explosive ordnance risk education (EORE)awareness, and clearance of mines, explosives and remnants of war.to assistance for people affected by armed conflict. Founded in 2016, SHO has organized & executed programs throughout Iraq. including the provinces of Nineveh, Duhok, Kirkuk, Tikrit, Anbar, and Baghdad. It currently holds offices in Duhok and Mosul.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

The Finance Officer is responsible for various financial operations such as budgeting, financial reporting, accounting, compliance processing payments, maintaining cost reports, and managing. Additionally, they are expected to perform administrative and clerical tasks, update records, prepare documents, and implement policies. 

The Finance Officer is expected to work loyally and efficiently towards the project's goals and objectives and Humanitarian Mine Action in general, showing initiative and commitment. Furthermore, the Finance Officer should be familiar with and adhere to the SHO Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and control the accounting system based on the organization financial system in line with ZEWO norms and the RPC 21 accounting standards.
  • Oversee, integrate and internal audit of the organzation accounts.
  • Liaise with external consultants and providers for licenses and upkeep of the system and other specialized financial tools.

  • Fill out monthly payroll and keep organized records
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable. Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers, and partners as needed
  • Submit monthly budget/expense report to the Finance manager
  • Manage the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries and benefits.
  • Monthly closing + financial reports to the Support Service Manager.
  • Oversee and control yearly closing of accounts
  • Prepare the annual financial statements and notes for SHO.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve financial management and control.
  • Any other tasks required by the line manager.
