Description
Community Outreach Assistant will help Community Outreach Coordinator effectively build and progressively develop a community-based approach aiming at mainstreaming protection incorporating the principles of meaningful access to services, safety, and dignity into all of LCN’s activities (including participation and empowerment of women, children; accountability to beneficiaries; assistance provided in proportion to need and without any barriers; avoid causing harm).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support producing analytical monthly protection reports highlighting key protection issues and analyzing trends identified from protection monitoring
- Help Promote and develop innovative community-based intervention models to provide preventive psychosocial support to at-risk individuals and communities
- Contribute in Delivering awareness sessions about human rights, relevant protection topics (child protection, SGBV, gender equity, etc.)
- Follow, understand and provide analysis of the local context and it potential evolution concerning all aspect of protection related issues
- Maintain effective working relationships with UNHCR and LCN’s Partners
- Undertaking other tasks as requested
- Strengthening community and family psychosocial support capacity and improve referral between protection actors and health actors

- Investigate, assess, and defend those people under court case in line with LCN’s policy
- Examining the evidences of a case, interviewing witnesses and clients, and studying local and international human rights laws
- Conduct site visits with program team
- Prepare case status reports
- May also help promoting public awareness about the human rights laws
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
- Bachelor degree in Law
- Relevant degree, preferably in Political or Social Sciences, Human Rights Law, International Affairs, Public Health, Social Work, Psychology
- Ability to deal with difficult, often frustrating work situations
- Demonstrated good knowledge of UN and NGO mandates and programs in the humanitarian responses
- Ability to deal with difficult, often frustrating work situations
- A high sense of discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive protection information
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask and
- Handle a fast-paced organization.
- Ability to solve problems with a minimum of supervision or seek guidance proactively when necessary.
