Organizational context

Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) is a non-profit organization that operates abroad, in the context of humanitarian aid and development cooperation. It is a respected member of the international network, Caritas Internationalis, and Caritas Europa. Its foreign activities focus on the health and social sectors and on developing livelihood for the local population and education of children and adults.

1. Purpose of the Position

The Agriculture Expert position feeds into improving resilience and income generating potential of the agricultural sector in Ninawa by building DoA capacity on Corp Diversification and supporting DoA to transfer the knowledge to the farmers.

2. Major Responsibilities
   1. Implementation

• Provide technical and program performance management focusing on new crops diversification
• Day to day follow up on the activities of the training.
• Facilitate day to day implementation engagement with target groups including DoA staff and Farmers.
• Contribute to the market assessment study.
• Develop curriculums on new crops diversification based on market assessment findings.
• In Coordination with Senior Livelihoods Advisor support MEAL team in quality data gathering
• Ensure complaint implementation of agricultural support activities including delivery of the trainings, designing of the curriculums and toolskits.
• Maintain productive relationship with DoA in Ninawa
• Oversee the curriculum including business plan template adaptation and delivery by the trainers
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by line manager.

1. Quality Assurance and Staffing

• Ensure Projects meet technical requirements including appropriate tools and curriculum for the target demographic.
• Follow up with partner organizations when appropriate to monitor capacity and implementation quality
• Research or develop tools for effective programming all livelihood projects.

1. Representation in Ninawa

• Sometimes acts as the focal point of CCR in Ninawa and build productive relationship with local authorities and communities.
• Coordinate with support departments to ensure the necessary approval from the local authorities and other key stakeholders are in place.
• Build the CCRs visibility in the Ninewa among other local and International NGOs, donors and local authorities.

1. Reporting

• Support Project Manager – Team Leader in developing donor and infernal report by providing timely and quality inputs.
• Track the procurements and update purchase request track list regularly.

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture
• 5 years’ experience in agriculture and crops diversification
• Proven experience in implementing projects related to Skills Development and Vocational Training
• Good computer skills - MS Office & database.
• Good control and supervisory skills
• Good communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of Arabic and Good writing and speaking skills in English.
