About Aid Gate Organization "AGO"

Aid Gate Organization (AGO) is an independent national NGO in Iraq, committed to supporting Internally Displaced Persons, returnees, and vulnerable communities across all Iraqi cities and governorates. With operations in key regions such as Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, Anbar, Nineveh, Diyala, and Basra, AGO focuses on rebuilding lives and promoting inclusivity for all, including minorities and persons with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development:
    • Design two distinct training packages:
      • 4-day Sports & Arts Training (team-building, inclusive coaching, trauma-informed facilitation, non-violent communication, youth engagement).
      • 5-day Art-based Community Engagement Training (public art, participatory theater, digital storytelling, advocacy for community-led art projects).
  • Conduct training sessions related to the aforementioned topics
  • Apply interactive learning methods including role-plays, group work, visual arts workshops, participatory theater exercises, and storytelling sessions.
  • Assist participants in drafting district-level action plans and project proposals for youth-led art initiatives.
  • Ensure all trainings integrate trauma-informed approaches, inclusion, and Do No Harm principles.
  • Ensure gender sensitivity, inclusion, and Do No Harm principles are applied throughout.
  • Maintain cultural respect, neutrality, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Submit a comprehensive final report for both activities including participant lists, pre/post assessments, training evaluations, challenges, and recommendations.

    Supervision & Reporting

    The trainer will report to the Project Manager and coordinate closely with the Youth Program Coordinator to ensure consistency and contextual relevance.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven expertise in sports for development, arts-based peacebuilding, or youth-focused social cohesion programs.
  • Experience in community engagement, conflict prevention, or reintegration-related training.
  • Strong facilitation, participatory training, and mentoring skills.
  • Familiarity with public art, forum theater, cultural expression, and storytelling as peacebuilding tools.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is an added value .
