Voice of Older People and Family (VOP-Fam) is a Humanitarian non-profit nongovernmental organization working to achieve a better life for older people and their family members on the basis of a human rights approach. VOP is registered with Kurdistan regional government (according to letter no. 9901 dated October 6th, 2004 issued by the Ministry of Interior).
The main office is located in Dohuk Governorate but runs projects and activities in a number of other Iraqi cities and towns such as the Sulaymaniyah Governorate and Shekhan district. VOP – Fam has well established itself in the last twelve years of its age as focusing on undertaking social activities for the elderly and family members with a strong component in child protection, legal aid, and peaceful coexistence activities through involving communities in dialogues and involving art activities for disseminating peace messages.
VOP has experienced personnel in areas of Programming, administration and finance, field implementation, and monitoring as well as emergency coordination, the staff is further supported with the good reputation and strong coordination VOP has with the local authorities and communities it has worked with.

Child Protection Program
VOP FAM has been implementing Child Protection (CP) programs since 2012. where UNICEF is our main partner, we have implemented a variety of CP projects with the support of many other local and international NGOs During the emergencies, we were among the first NGOs who responded to child protection concerns such as identifying and registering the Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) and implementing Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) projects. Furthermore, after the emergency, VOP FAM is running more development and sustainable projects in the affected communities such as Community-Based Child Protection projects.
Description (terms)
- Ensure – through clear weekly and monthly work plans – child protection monitoring and field assessment activities are carried out in a timely, effective and technically sound manner.
- Supervise the staff and facilitate participatory child protection field assessment – applying the Age, Gender and Diversity approach - to fully understand the displaced population in its diversity, their protection concerns and priorities, and the resources available to them.
- Support the collection of information/data for protection monitoring to address vulnerabilities, child protection needs and concerns of the targeted population and weekly reports on key issues/trends.
- Conduct follow-up monitoring visits to ensure that needs have been met in an appropriate manner and beneficiary have the opportunity to provide feedback on the assistance received.
- Ensure dissemination of clear and reliable information on service provision and other preselected key topics.
- Provide constant feedback to supervisor on progress, lesson learnt, achievements and gaps, issues and problems.
- Contribute to capacity building of local organizations, community groups, and stakeholders on protection.
- Supervise 4 or more Supervisors (In-Charges) in CP CENTER /Community-Based Child Protection Centers.
- The Project Officer will participate in strategic planning for CP CENTER startup, manage procurement of recreation kits and another essential CP CENTER material.
- Participate in the employment of CP CENTER animators and animator Supervisors (In-Charges).
- Manage the day-to-day operations of CP CENTER, including direct supervision of Supervisors (In-Charges) (including all associated HR tasks and paperwork). All administrative, logistical, and coordination tasks necessary for the day-to-day operations of the CP CENTER are the responsibility of the Project Officer.
- Identify and leads resolution of any and all problems that arise at CP CENTER.
- Ensure animator timesheets are completed accurately.
- Support the CPC to identify CP concerns in the area of work.
- Conduct CPC meeting at monthly base.
- Conduct or establish CP meeting on the camp level on monthly base.
- Build and maintain relationships with beneficiary communities.
- Conduct awareness raising session for the beneficiary communities.
- Manage inventory of supplies at each CP CENTER, in coordination with animator Supervisors (In-Charges).
- Ensure that each CP CENTER has sufficient supply of water and that water is easily available to children at all times.
- Participate in the adaptation of a referral strategy to ensure quality services to beneficiaries.
- Liaise with other service providers to support referrals and ensure follow up of the referrals.
- Monitor child enrolment and attendance for reporting purposes.
- Ensure all health and safety mechanisms are in place.
- Report on a regular basis, highlighting any key protection concerns or issues in project implementation in a timely fashion.
- Perform other duties as required by project supervisors, the Head of Project.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationship with relevant government authorities, IDP community leaders, and Cluster personnel.

Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field
- Familiar with Logistic processes such as issuing PRs and handling Pos.
- Experienced managing budget lines
- Good technical understanding of child protection and community-based approaches.
- Previous experience with Structured PSS program activities.
- Experience with community development, working with children and schools.
- A good understanding of MS Word and MS Excel required
Education: Diploma or higher, preferably Social Sciences, law, or any field relevant.
