Main Purpose

Support the Country Programme Coordinator in project design, planning, administration, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, and enhance teamwork and capacity building in order to ensure the delivery of quality aid to beneficiaries and their communities. The position will be based at INTERSOS’ Erbil Office with frequent travels across the country.

Reporting to:

Hierarchical: Country Programme Coordinator

 

Tasks:

● In coordination with the Country Programme Coordinator, prepare, follow up and update the project activities work plans, ensuring timely and quality implementation in compliance with the defined project strategy and donor guidelines.

● Participate and support the implementation and development of relevant activities, including assessment and monitoring.

  ● Conduct research and provide support for assessments of community needs.

● Organize the logistics of the field visits.

● Analyse the results of the assessment and provide input to develop intervention strategies and budgets based on community needs, cultural and environmental appropriateness and feasibility.

● Support the Country Programme Coordinator to draft proposals and project plans to be shared with the stakeholders.

● Check on team members' progress during the phases of the project.

● Monitor progress on a regular basis and give suggestions in a timely manner for corrective actions, if necessary.

● Attend regular meetings with field staff to discuss programme progress and results, develop action plans and take corrective measures as required.

  ● Actively participate in coordination meetings if requested.

● Liaise and maintain regular contact with the stakeholders.

● Supervise the movements of staff.

● Upload project materials, maintaining IMP, DB and other platforms up to date.

 

Administration:

 ● Collect and check field financial documents (invoices, receipts, attendance sheets, etc) and guarantee the delivery of them to the coordination finance office.

● Supervise the payment of project staff.

● Support the Country Programme Coordinator in the administrative aspects of the recruitment process.

● Complete other administrative tasks requested by the Country Programme Coordinator.

Reporting:

● Compile data and create report templates.

● Contribute to and ensure the preparation of high-quality regular reports on field interventions, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

● Ensure that regular financial reports (monthly, quarterly and annual) are available.

● Any additional tasks delegated by the Country Programme Coordinator.

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Requirements

Education

● BA in International Affairs, Development, International Political Economy or other relevant field.

Professional experience:

● 2 years of relevant work experience in a humanitarian project/programme, including financial management and logistics responsibilities.

Professional requirements:

● Good knowledge of the Project Cycle Management.

● Familiarity with international donors is preferred.

● Strong writing and editing skills in English with close attention to detail.

● Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet).

● Good organizational skills.

● Teamwork and cooperation.

● Behavioural flexibility.

● Results and quality orientation.

● Problem-solving and initiative.

● Communication skills.

● Understanding of humanitarian operations principles, standards and best practices.

● Commitment to INTERSOS principles.

 

Languages 

● Arabic and Kurdish are mandatory.

● Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
