PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Ashor Iraqi Foundation for Relief and Development (ARD) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities in Iraq through sustainable development, humanitarian assistance, and advocacy. ARD envisions a society where all individuals, regardless of gender, age, or ability, can live with dignity, equality, and access to opportunities.
The Project Officer (PO) will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring project activities while maintaining strong relationships with partners, stakeholders, and the Committee of PVE in Salah Al-Din. The PO will ensure that project activities are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with the project’s social cohesion and PVE objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Project Implementation and Coordination:
o
Implement project activities in line with the approved work plan, timeline, and budget.
o
Supervise and coordinate project activities to ensure alignment with the project’s objectives and deliverables.
o
Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager/Project Coordinator.
2.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:
o
Maintain and strengthen working relationships with local project stakeholders, including government authorities, CSOs, community leaders, and the Committee of PVE in Salah Al-Din.
o
Oversee the establishment and functioning of a subcommittee for the Prevention of Violent Extremism (PVE).
o
Facilitate high-quality workshops, training sessions, and meetings for beneficiaries and CSOs.
3.
Documentation and Reporting:
o
Ensure all project requirements, support documents, and records are properly maintained and filed.
o
Prepare and submit attendance sheets, meeting minutes, signatures, and other project-related documentation.
o
Support the preparation of progress reports, success stories, and other reporting requirements.
4.
Community Engagement and Outreach:
o
Identify and gather target groups and individuals for project activities, including meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
o
Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure their active participation and ownership of the project.
5.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
o
Monitor the implementation of project activities to ensure they meet quality standards and achieve desired outcomes.
o
Collect data and feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders to inform project
adjustments and improvements.
6.
Communication and Coordination:
o
Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and address any challenges.
o
Represent the organization in meetings, workshops, and other events related to the project.
Qualifications and Experience
•
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, conflict resolution, or a related field.
•
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in social cohesion, PVE, or community development projects.
•
Strong understanding of the social, political, and cultural context of Salah Al-Din Governorate.
•
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, and community mobilization.
•
Excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
•
Proficiency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
•
Strong reporting and documentation skills.
•
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
