Job Summary

The Packing Assistant supports the pharmaceutical packaging operations by ensuring medicines are packed accurately, safely, and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory standards. The role is critical in maintaining product quality, traceability, and hygiene throughout the packaging process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the packing of pharmaceutical products (tablets, capsules, syrups, semi-solid, dry powder etc.) according to approved procedures.
  • Operate packaging equipment such as carton sealing machine, conveyor belt and plat form balance.
  • Ensure correct labeling, batch numbers, expiry dates, and packaging materials are used.
  • Perform visual inspection of packed products to identify defects, damage, or contamination.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the packing area in line with GMP requirements.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, production instructions and quality standards.
  • Accurately complete packaging records, logbooks, and documentation.
  • Report deviations, equipment malfunctions, or quality issues to the supervisor.
  • Support line clearance activities before and after packaging operations.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training is an advantage)
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical, food, or FMCG packing is preferred
  • Basic understanding of GMP and hygiene standards
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Physically fit to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
