Description
OVERVIEW
Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is a charitable organization supporting survivors of human rights violations, defending fundamental freedoms, and promoting democratic values throughout the world. Our programs provide mental health, medical treatment, and other support services to survivors of trauma, terror, domestic violence, and human rights violations.
We are seeking applicants for the position of Medical Doctor at the Erbil branch in Iraq.
Position: Medical Doctor
Status: Part-Time (4 Hours/Week) (One day per week).
Based: Erbil – KRG, Iraq
Reports to: Branch Manager, M&E Officer and Head of Trauma Care and Health
Required Degree: Bachelor in Medicine.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Treatment:
-
Medical anamnesis and diagnostics of patients, including detailed torture/violence anamnesis, laboratory analyses, if necessary, as well as specialized diagnostics carried out by medical experts.

Medical treatment of clients, including prescriptions of drugs and physiotherapy, referrals to psychiatrists and psychotherapists, and referrals to external specialists.

Regular follow-up of therapeutic progress, prevention of drop-outs and correct termination of therapy.

Administrative tasks:
-
Regular and complete documentation of patient data in the patient files and the database.

Monthly documentation of all activities in a report.

Ensures data entry.

Communication and networking:
-
Cooperation with other staff members, centers and external partners.

Attends cluster meetings.
REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor's degree in Medicine;
-
Work experience in related filed (desired);
-
Basic knowledge of MS Office and data entry;

Ability to travel, including multi-day trips both nationally and internationally;

Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and cooperation with other staff members, centers and external partners;

Active interest in promoting human rights and social justice.
