Job Summary
The Physician Assistant (Maternity) is responsible for organizing and ensuring medical consultations for the target population, providing treatment to patients within the scope of his/her medical competencies, and referring them when appropriate. The role includes assisting gynecologists in prenatal and postnatal care, supporting safe deliveries, and addressing maternal health concerns to ensure quality and efficient medical services. The Physician Assistant plays a key role in improving maternal and newborn health outcomes in the targeted locations in Sinjar District.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose, prescription and prevention procedures that fall under the scope of his/her competencies applying medical knowledge, asking appropriate questions to patients, in order to ensure a correct implementation of the medical treatments and to refer patients when appropriate
- Assist gynecologist and maternity care providers in prenatal checkups, and postpartum care, ensuring maternal health needs are met in a comprehensive manner.
- Keep the patient and/or their family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow, ensuring they have understood. Participate in health education for expectant and new mothers, providing guidance on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
- Support medical training focused on maternal health and obstetric care to optimize the quality of care in the maternity setting.
- Organize and carry out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting during consultations, daily rounds and other medical procedures.
- Recor in the individual patients records/cards, all performed medical activities (drugs prescribed, lab results, vaccination status, epidemiological activity, doses, etc.) keeping data traceability in order to ensure patients treatment continuity.
- Support medical training to optimize the quality of care.

Education / Experience Needed
- Nursing bachelor's degree (4 year).
- 3-year experience minimum as a Physician assistant in clinical work.
- Required experience in obstetrics/gynecology and pediatrics.
Language
- Kurmanji required
- Arabic desirable
- English desirable
