Reports to: Economic Security Generalist 3 (Economic Security Team Leader)
Duration of Contract: One-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal to an open-ended contract. For internal candidates, this contract may be open-ended based on your existing contract status.

Objective:
Under the direct supervision of the Economic Security (EcoSec) Team leader, the Economic Security Generalist 2 carries out field and office work related to assessing, implementing and monitoring the ICRC’s EcoSec programme in Nasiriyah Sub-Delegation. Specifically, he/she is the file holder of the Relief programme, contributes to micro-economic initiative (MEI), and livelihood support programmes (LSP). She/He acts as focal person within the framework of the EcoSec activities implemented by ICRC and other activities jointly with the Iraqi Red Crecent Society (IRCS) in Nasiriyah sub-delegation Areas of Responsibility (AoR).
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute, develop, and implement the ICRC micro-economic initiative programmes.
- Contributes to the monitoring of the ICRC Economic security programmes in consultation with the line manager, including providing written feedback regularly, maintaining an accurate database.
- Plays an active role in testing out and developing new approaches to income-generating activities and capacity-building programs, including through larger grant sizes tied to job creation, exploring vocational training and apprenticeships opportunities.
- Supports the ICRC team in planning and following up on the programmes, including regularly giving feedback on the overall strategy and progress toward achieving milestones.
- Understands the ICRC projects criteria, the seasonal calendar in Iraq, and ICRC’s approach to improve beneficiaries’ income generation activities, particularly related to agricultural and livestock projects.
- Visits households to assess the feasibility of projects on the basis of the application forms. Contribute to market assessments (data collection) to understand market dynamics. Drafting assessment reports and project proposals.
Guides daily workers and volunteers, both in the office and in the field."
Education and Professional Experience required:
- University degree in economics, anthropology, veterinary science, nutrition, public health, or significant experience in the humanitarian field.
- 3–5 years of work experience in a similar field.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MC (Excel, Word & Power Points).
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
