Social Cohesion Training Facilitator - Ninewa, Sinjar
The Social Cohesion Training Facilitator will play a key role in supporting the delivery of peacebuilding and social cohesion activities in Qahtaniyah. The facilitator will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing training workshops, youth empowerment initiatives, and community-led reconciliation efforts. This position is essential to ensuring inclusive, participatory, and culturally sensitive engagement with local peace actors, including youth, women, and civil society representatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Social Cohesion Specialist in preparing and delivering four thematic workshops on mediation, dialogue facilitation, transitional justice, and advocacy.
- Facilitate training sessions using participatory and gender-sensitive approaches.
- Assist in organizing proposal development sessions and mentoring community groups in designing peacebuilding initiatives.
- Coordinate logistics for workshops, meetings, and community-led activities, including venue setup, materials, and participant communication.
- Monitor and document training outcomes, participant feedback, and initiative progress.
- Contribute to the development of success stories, lessons learned, and project reports.
- Engage with youth and women peace groups to support the implementation of community-led initiatives.
- Support strategic engagement sessions with local authorities and stakeholders.
- Ensure all activities are conflict-sensitive, inclusive, and aligned with project goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in peace and conflict studies, social sciences, education, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in training facilitation, community engagement, or peacebuilding.
- Strong understanding of participatory training methodologies and adult learning principles.
- Experience working with youth, women, and civil society organizations.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in Arabic and/or Kurdish; English is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data collection tools.
- Commitment to gender equality, inclusion, and conflict sensitivity.
