Description
Background:
The WYPS is a four-year regional program that aims to strengthen women and youth’s meaningful, enduring participation in advancing inclusive peace and security in Levant countries and Yemen. In Iraq, Search has partnered with Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) to amplify the influence of youth and women peacebuilders at the grassroots level, catalyze broad inclusion of grassroots peacebuilders in municipal and national institutions and peace processes, and advance social norms that support meaningful inclusion of diverse stakeholders in peace and security. The program aims to promote the participation of women, youths and men in peacebuilding efforts and enhance their role in advancing the Women, Peace and Security Agenda. As part of this program, we are seeking a qualified specialist to develop the National Action Plan (NAP) progress reports on a yearly basis.
Responsibilities:
● Develop three annual NAP progress reports, one per year, documenting the actual situation of the NAP in Iraq and challenges, while also outlining the achievements, challenges, and lessons learned in implementing the WYPS program in relation to that. The reports must be developed in both English and Arabic languages.
● Ensure the reports reflect the perspectives and experiences of women, youth, and other stakeholders involved in peacebuilding efforts.
● Collaborate closely with program staff, partners, and stakeholders to gather relevant data and information for the reports.
● Coordinate with authorities, decision-makers, government representatives, networks, and women's rights/women-led organizations to legitimize the reports and ensure their endorsement.
● Conduct consultations and validation workshops to review and finalize the reports, incorporating feedback from key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
 Qualifications:
● Advanced degree in women rights studies, peace and conflict studies, international development, or a related field.
● At least five years of experience in research, monitoring, and evaluation, or reporting related to women, peace, and security issues.
● Strong understanding of national and international frameworks on women, youths, peace, and security, including the first and second National Action Plans for Iraq, UN Security Council Resolution 1325, and subsequent resolutions.
● Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience in producing high-quality reports and publications in both English and Arabic languages.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
