Description

Ashor Iraqi Foundation for Relief and Development (ARD) is a non-profit LNGO established in 2015 and registered in 2019 in the Iraqi Federal government and KRI, Ashor is youth-led organization which is leading by youth who were working in senior positions with INGOs like Tdh , Save the Children , G4S , US embassy , Islamic Relief , ..etc .
Ashor is using international systems, Polices and SOPs through transfer the knowledge from its senior management staff.
Ashor has implemented many projects serving vulnerable people in many Iraqi governorates to reach a world of optimism, and to focus mainly on programs of Social Cohesion, Livelihood, Economic empowerment, climate change, Agriculture /Food security Education and protection programs.
Ashor bases in Iraq, the HQ in Kirkuk, and the other bases in Erbil, Ninewa, Salah Al-Din, Diyala, and Anbar governorates. In addition, in south of Iraq including Basra and Dhi-Qar governorates.

Job Purpose:
The Livelihoods and Agriculture Officer will play a pivotal role in implementing and overseeing community mobilization, agricultural support, and market-based livelihood activities aimed at improving the resilience and economic stability of vulnerable populations in Kirkuk (Zab sub-district), Ninewa (Qaraj sub-district), and surrounding areas. Under the guidance of ARD-Ashor Iraqi Foundation for Relief and Development, the officer will ensure the effective delivery of agricultural and livelihood interventions, including in-kind assistance, grants, and training programs. The role requires a combination of technical expertise in agriculture, community engagement, and project management to support the recovery and empowerment of affected populations in a humanitarian context.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Implementation:
o Lead the implementation of community mobilization, agricultural support, and market-based livelihood activities.
o Monitor the distribution of in-kind assistance and grants, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with organizational procedures.
o Supervise contractors and trainers to deliver business-focused training programs.
2. Assessments and Reporting:
o Conduct assessments, including market assessments, community mapping, and service provider evaluations, to inform project design and implementation.
o Provide recommendations to the Project Coordinator based on assessment findings.
o Regularly update the Project Coordinator on field activities and progress.
3. Community Engagement:
o Establish and maintain strong relationships with targeted communities, local leaders, and focal points.
o Implement ARD’s Community Engagement Approach and facilitate the formation of community development committees.
o Conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), household surveys, and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with the support of assistants and enumerators.
4. Field Monitoring and Coordination:
o Conduct regular field visits to project sites to monitor activities and ensure alignment with project objectives.
o Ensure protection mainstreaming in all agricultural livelihoods and community mobilization activities.
5. Capacity Building and Leadership:
o Provide leadership and guidance to a multi-cultural team, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
o Build the capacity of local communities and stakeholders to participate actively in project activities.
6. Compliance and Documentation:
o Maintain accurate records of registrations, verifications, and distributions for all livelihoods and agriculture-related activities.
o Ensure compliance with ARD policies, donor requirements, and local regulations.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
 Experience: 2-3 years of experience in community mobilization and livelihood projects, preferably in agriculture, within a humanitarian or recovery context.
 Education: University degree in social services, agriculture, or a related field. Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
 Skills:
o Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
o Ability to work under pressure, manage varying workloads, and operate with limited supervision.
 Language: Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) is required. Fluency in English is an advantage.
