SWEDO is a Swedish non-profit, non-political, non-religious development aid organization that was founded in 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden. Having continuously operated in the Kurdistan Region ever since, SWEDO’s main priorities of work are construction and infrastructure activities, refugee and IDP initiatives, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and capacity building.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs advanced linguistic checks on the incoming information materials.
- Works closely with Information Management Team to perform Fact-check and cross-check qualitative information with multiple field sources; review information to ensure accuracy. Looks for any mistakes/errors/inconsistencies and cooperates with relevant people on correcting them.
- Promptly informs Project staff about requirements of donors/auditors.
- Produces analytical fragments of reports by tracking and comparing data records throughout different reporting periods.
- Assists the Reporting Officer in verifying information from all program departments to help to produce reports required for donors, including monthly, quarterly, and final donor reports, weekly sit reps, flash and emergency reports and informal information requests.
- Prepare minutes of meetings when required.
- Verifies, and validates daily/weekly records and compare it with online UNHCR data collection tool for verification purposes.
- Reviews data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies.
- Supports data entry focal points by providing guidance on usage and maintaining proper installation for data collection tools.
- Assist in defining users and enabling data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner.
- Keeping information with confidentiality and ensure the safety of the information, and manage access to information as per data protection policies of UNHCR.
- Provide IT support to the staff related to data collection tools.
- Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Journalism, English Literature, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or any other related field.
- Fluent in Kurdish and English, Arabic is a plus.
- At least one-year experience in related field
- Ability to assume multiple project responsibilities in a focused and dedicated manner.
- Experience in data processing and analyzing with NGOs.
- Proven linguistic proficiency, advanced editing skills and command of English is mandatory.
- Familiarity with data collection and visualization tools.
- Knowledge of building and implementing SQL queries and relational databases.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential and other related system and programmes are required).
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly, accurately, meet deadlines, and process information in support of changing program activities is necessary.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment.
