Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE (BRIEF): THE FINANCE OFFICER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OVERSEEING AND MANAGING FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES IN CHALLENGING ENVIRONMENTS FOR OUR INGO. THIS ROLE IS ESSENTIAL FOR ENSURING ACCURATE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, COMPLIANCE, AND EFFICIENT FINANCIAL OPERATIONS.

Main Responsibilities:

Budget Oversight:

·        Collaborate with program managers to develop and manage project budgets.

·        Monitor budget performance and provide regular reports on budget vs. actual expenditures.

Financial Reporting:

·        Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders and donors.

·        Ensure compliance with donor financial reporting requirements.

Grants and Contracts Management:

·        Manage the financial aspects of grants and contracts, including proposal budgets, grant compliance, and financial reporting.

·        Coordinate with program teams to monitor grant spending and adherence to grant terms.

Cash Management:

·        Manage cash flow, including funds disbursement, cash forecasting, and fund replenishment.

·        Ensure the safekeeping of financial resources and adherence to cash management policies.

Accounting and Record-Keeping:

·        Oversee the maintenance of accurate accounting records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

·        Ensure proper coding and allocation of expenses according to financial policies.

Procurement and Contracts:

·        Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure financial compliance in procurement processes.

.        Review the FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS to ensure the best QUALITY with full DOCUMENTATION.

 

 

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:

ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE IN FINANCE, ACCOUNTING, OR A RELATED FIELD.

Required Skills & Abilities

·        STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF FINANCIAL PLANNING, BUDGETING, AND GRANT MANAGEMENT.

·        PROFICIENCY IN FINANCIAL SOFTWARE, ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS, AND MICROSOFT EXCEL.

·        STRONG ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS, WITH THE ABILITY TO ADAPT TO WORK CONDITIONS.

·        ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND A HIGH LEVEL OF ACCURACY IN FINANCIAL TASKS.

·        EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS, INCLUDING CROSS-CULTURAL COMMUNICATION

.        KNOWLEDGE OF DONOR REGULATIONS AND COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS.
