ob Summary
The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation of the "Sustainable Climate Dialogues: Empowering Women for a Resilient Future" project in Erbil. Responsibilities include overseeing project execution, developing work plans and budgets, and ensuring high-quality delivery of activities across locations. The coordinator will manage and guide the project team, build relationships with stakeholders, and represent the project at external events. Additionally, they will track project progress, prepare reports, and lead advocacy campaigns to promote climate resilience and gender equality. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing women’s empowerment and climate resilience projects, strong leadership skills, and proficiency in project management tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management and Oversight:
· Lead the overall implementation of the "Sustainable Climate Dialogues: Empowering Women for a Resilient Future" project, ensuring all activities align with the project’s objectives and timeline.
· Develop comprehensive work plans, budgets, and monitoring frameworks to guide project execution.
· Coordinate with field teams in each location to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of project activities.
Team Leadership and Supervision:
· Supervise and provide guidance to Project Officers and Project Assistants, ensuring their roles are clearly defined and supported.
· Conduct regular check-ins with team members to address challenges and ensure effective collaboration.
· Promote a positive and productive team environment, fostering innovation and problem-solving.
Stakeholder Engagement:
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, women’s groups, environmental organizations, and donors.
· Represent the project at external meetings, conferences, and forums to advocate for women’s empowerment and climate resilience.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Learning:
· Track progress against project indicators and ensure timely data collection and analysis for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
· Prepare high-quality narrative and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors.
· Document lessons learned and best practices to inform future programming.
Advocacy and Awareness:
· Lead the development and execution of advocacy campaigns to promote sustainable climate practices and gender equality.
· Ensure project activities contribute to raising awareness about women’s critical role in climate resilience.
Risk Management and Compliance:
· Identify and mitigate potential risks to project implementation, ensuring compliance with organizational and donor policies.
· Monitor and manage project budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Qualifications and Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Environmental Studies, Gender Studies, or related fields (Master’s degree preferred).
· At least 5 years of experience in managing projects related to women’s empowerment, climate resilience, or sustainable development.
· Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
· Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy at local, national, or international levels.
· Strong knowledge of gender equality, environmental sustainability, and community dialogue approaches.
· Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is required, Kurdish is a plus.
