About SEED: SEED is a registered NGO in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. SEED’s mission is to protect, empower, and support the recovery of survivors of violence and others at risk. SEED is committed to delivering high quality, holistic approaches, which combine international expertise and local know-how to achieve results for the people of Iraq and Kurdistan Region. SEED’s programming focuses on three key objectives: 1) the delivery of transformational, comprehensive services including case management, mental health, and legal services, as well as psychosocial support activities; 2) strengthening the capacity of service providers through education, training, and capacity-development programs; and 3) ​promoting policy and social change to strengthen the rights of, and protections for, vulnerable groups and individuals through public awareness, technical assistance, and advocacy.

Role of the Job Title:

The Project Coordinator will support and coordinate the implementation and management of projects. The Project Coordinator will report to the Project Manager and work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth execution of project activities in all aspects of the project, including planning, implementation, budget monitoring, logistics, data collection and analysis, administrative support, reporting, MEAL and communications for the designated project. The Project Coordinator will visit project sites and monitor project activities, writing up visit reports for management. 

 

 

Specific Tasks:

Support Project Development and Implementation (60%)

 

  • Assist the Project Manager with project planning and the full cycle of project implementation, develop and implement project work plans, proactively report project status and updates to the Project Manager.
  • Needs Assessment & Contextual Alignment: Conduct comprehensive local needs assessments to inform program design and implementation. And ensure all projects and operational plans align with the local context and community priorities.
  • Project Risk Management: Perform thorough risk assessments for all proposed and ongoing projects. And monitor and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Representation: Serve as the organization's representative to government entities, community stakeholders, and civil society partners. And build/ maintain strong relationships with key partners to facilitate collaboration and program success.
  • Communications & Visibility: Develop compelling social media content and impact narratives to showcase program achievements, Produce high-quality success stories and reports that demonstrate project outcomes and organizational impact.
  • Supervise project staff, including setting objectives, managing performance, and identifying capacity-building needs.
  • Oversee implementation of multiple small projects, addressing challenges, and keeping the projects on track according to the work plan.
  • Support management of the project and project documentation and reporting,  filing and tracking project documents. Create and keep track of project records, reports, presentations, and proposals.
  • Develop and maintain a list of reporting deadlines for projects and play a key role in the collection of data, ensuring accuracy of data. 
  • Support report writing with information and updates about project activities including data, participant feedback and quotes, images and videos.
  • Assist in updating the work plans and track progress towards project targets, ensuring any challenges are immediately flagged.
  • Coordinate with implementing partners or sub-grantees (if applicable), ensuring effective collaboration, communication, and compliance.
  • Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain an agenda.
  • Ensure that project procurement is in line with SEED’s policies and donor regulations.
  • Working closely with the Program Management team and SEED’s Technical Unit, ensure implementation in line with SEED standards.
  • Support the ethical and safe implementation of all project activities, including appropriate data management and documentation.
  • Ensure accountability and safeguarding in all project sites and collaborate with SEED departments to implement effective strategies aimed at improving safety and reducing harm.

 

Reporting (20%)

  • Lead on the preparation of monthly reports, updates, challenges, and project status including by coordinating with relevant implementing teams to gather accurate and timely inputs.
  • Support the Project Manager in collecting, analyzing, and presenting achievements for donor, annual, and organizational reporting. 

Communications and Outreach (20%)

  • Support on the development of communications and awareness materials including success stories and social media communications.
  • Assist in campaigns and events as per need.

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in all training instructed by the supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as necessary, as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Carries out the duties respecting SEED Code of Conduct and policies and participates in training and awareness raising (COC & Safeguarding policies). 
  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a fulfilling and protective environment.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing or coordinating projects or programs within the humanitarian or development sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience with donor-funded project management, including private, institutional, or local donors.
  • Strong understanding of project cycle management, including planning, budgeting, implementation, and reporting processes.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and ensure compliance with donor and organizational policies.
  • Leadership skills, with experience supervising teams.
  • Excellent coordination, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Kurdish or Arabic is required; knowledge of both is an asset.
  • Experience representing an organization externally and building strategic partnerships.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
