The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral and independent international humanitarian organisation, which assists and protects victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence. The ICRC is currently looking for staff for its support operations in Iraq.

Job Title: Logistics Site Manager

Level: B3

Duty Station: Iraq – Erbil – Logistics Center

Reports to: Deputy Head of Sub delegation

Duration of Contract: One-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal to an open-ended contract. For internal candidates, this contract may be open-ended based on your existing contract status.

Objective:
Logistics Site Manager oversees logistics operations in Erbil sub-delegation. He/she provides technical and operational support in the areas of purchasing, warehousing, stock management, transport, and impex to ensure that assistance arrives at the final distribution point at the agreed time and in good condition. He/she will be in contact with the logistics coordination unit in Baghdad and other logistics site managers when deemed necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
• Sets up, adapts, and maintains the logistics infrastructure according to the needs, in collaboration with the Logistics Country Manager.
• Is responsible for implementing logistics procedures in accordance with the logistics strategy for the country and financial procedures.
• Maintains and ensures proper use of general and specialized logistics IT tools.
• Oversees and coordinates statistical reporting, queries, and inventories.
• Supervises the customer service desk and ensures that customer requests are promptly treated.
• Plans and oversees procurement activities (purchase orders, supplier files, sourcing, etc.).
• Supervises IMPEX and transport and distribution activities.
• Sets up, operates, and manages a warehouse and manages stock inventory.
• Follows up and manages the supply chain requests and ensures they are treated in a timely fashion, supervises customer desk service and carries out related reporting.
• Ensures logistics-related capacity building and HR matters on-site.
• Is responsible for managing finances for the cost center under his/her responsibility.
• Ensures that ICRC logistics systems are in place, operational and respected.
• In collaboration with Fleet, ensures maximum availability and implements control mechanisms for all logistical assets (vehicles, generators) located in the sub-delegation.

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education and Professional Experience required:
• Bachelor or technical degree in logistics or equivalent experience.
• Minimum six years work experience, preferably in commercial, or humanitarian logistics, including management experience.
• Computer proficiency and knowledge of specialized software.
• Excellent Language skills in English, Kurdish, & Arabic.
• ICRC field experience is an asset.
