Description

About Women Empowerment Organization (WEO):

The Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) is an Iraqi national NGO committed to promoting equal rights for women to ensure their active role in the Iraqi community. Established in Erbil in 2004, WEO has collaborated with various international partners, including UN agencies and the EU, to implement programs that enhance women's social, economic, and cultural participation. WEO also works to prevent and respond to VAWG by providing survivors with social, economic, psychological, and legal assistance while advocating for stronger legal protections for women.

WEO, in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), is implementing the project “Improving Safety and Economic Opportunities for Vulnerable IDPs and Returnees in Iraq,” which focuses on improving service access and socio-economic opportunities for Iraqi IDPs, returnees, and host communities.
