Logistics Assistant – Base in Sinune - Norwegian Church Aid (IRAQ)

Introduction to the country office:

NCA opened its country office in North Iraq in 2014 in response to the displacement crisis resulting from the invasion by ISIS.

NCA Iraq is implementing a Peace building and gender-based violence (GBV) program designed to facilitate the recovery and reintegration of survivors into their communities and challenge the cultural norms that perpetuate GBV.

Information about the position: NCA is seeking a Logistics assistant to assist logistics, procurement, and administration for NCA’s field offices in Sinune, Sinjar Mountain and Sinjar town and NCA project sites in Ninawa if required.  

Information about the contract: This is national contract with duration of 7 months.  Possibility of contract extension depending upon availability of funding.

Job description:

• Responsible of fuel charge, regular maintenance, and logbook of NCA vehicle in Sinjar.
• Arranging movement plan in Sinune, Sinjar Mountain and Sinjar town offices and report to logistics officer.  
• Responsible of procurement (Running cost- Electric and water waybill of office…) in Sinune, Sinjar Mountain, Sinjar town and NCA project sites in Ninawa if required.
• Assist Logistics to search and collect offers above mentioned area.  
• Assist logistics department for stock and Asset/Inventory in Sinune, Sinjar Mountain, Sinjar town and NCA project sites in Ninawa if required.
• Assist Logistics department for repair and maintenance related matters in above maintained offices.
• Travel required to Sinjar, Ba’aj , (Ninawa side if required) for any Logistics and procurement work.
• Responsible of electric and water waybill in Sinune, Sinjar Mountain and Sinjar town offices.
• Any other task assigned by the logistics team and/or the Country Director.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work on (Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook) and in internet email etc., Computer skill is strongly required. Excellent word processing and IT skills, including knowledge of a range of software packages.

• Highly numerate and able to successfully manage a large and demanding workload.
• Ability of movement to Sinune, Sinjar, Ba’aj , Bashiqa ,and Mosul.
• Able to organize own work and prioritize tasks.

Personal qualities

• Graduated from college, minimum years 6.
• Engilish language knowldge is strongly required (Written and spoken).
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and be resilient and able to work in a challenging environment in which flexibility and responsiveness is essential
• Ability to research, digest, analyse and present material clearly and concisely
• Flexibility and adaptability to juggle a range of different tasks and to work extra hours to meet deadlines

• Able to interact with senior managers and partners comfortably and effectively.
