Founded in 2003, WRO is a non-profit, non-governmental, independent civil society organization. WRO, for 20 years has been working through its mandate to promote women and vulnerable communities, decision-making and leadership in ensuring human rights and fundamental freedoms for all, combatting poverty, eradicating violence against women and girls and family violence, catalyzing justice between men and women, protecting child rights, improving access to health and education, addressing climate change, driving peaceful coexistence, reconciliation and equal and fair pathways to justice, building trust, tolerance, and inclusion, engaging youth, building capacities of local governments, strengthening the sustainability of civil society, and shaping norms for localization development.
