Aim of the position:
Within a project funded by AICS, the trainer will train 60 youth on Social and Civic Engagement and Active participation in society. Trainer will be also involved in developing initiatives that reflect the interests and challenges that young people identify as priorities for their stronger participation and representation within the community.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver sessions to youth on Teamwork and collaboration, Problem identification and solution development using the problem tree method, Budget creation and timeline development.
- Provide a mentoring program to guide participants in developing community-based initiatives.
- Offer support on initiative design, planning, and prioritization, ensuring alignment with the interests and challenges identified by the youth.
- Facilitate interactions of youth with local authorities and other stakeholders.
- Address challenges and provide guidance to ensure successful implementation.
- Provide reports on regular basis in order to follow up on the trainings.
- Perform other duties within area of responsibility, as requested by the supervisor.
Reporting to: Project Manager
Essential requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, sociology, anthropology, social work or a related field of study.
- Expertise in community engagement, and participatory approaches.
- Proven experience in training and mentoring youth in social and civic engagement or related fields.
- 0 - 1 year of experience in development/Humanitarian context
Required skills and experiences:
- IT skills: Ability to effectively use standard office software, such as MS Office (Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Exchange). Ability to effectively use project management software and other information systems /databases.
- Good attitude and experience in working with partners
- Excellent ability to work in a team and contribute to team building;
- Ability to solve problems independently with innovative and creative approaches.
- Excellent communication skills in building relationships with local contacts
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
