Grants and Project Development Manager
in Erbil
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until 31.12.2025. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Erbil, Iraq. The position is paid according to SG7 (3,575,000 IQD as a Gross).
the objectives of the position is to implement the project activities according to the specified deadlines and organisational, contractual and financial directives.
Your responsibilities
1. Fundraising, Donor Relations, and Proposal Development
- Identify, assess, and pre-select new project ideas based on the country programme and in line with the Multi-Annual Country Strategy and the Annual Plan
- Responsible for development of concept notes and proposal, with support from Head of Programs, Head of Projects, and Support Services. Develop concept notes for Innovative pilot projects, in cooperation with International and Local organizations.
- In Coordination with the Head of Programs and Country Director, ensure WHH is represented in main coordination mechanisms when they exist, and organizing meetings with partners, donors, and potential partners according to WHH strategy.
2. Grants Management, Reporting and Donor Communications
- Develop and Monitor project reporting schedules, ensuring reporting occurs correctly and in due time (narrative reports ) to Head Office Bonn and donors in coordination with Finance, Project Managers and Partner organizations.
- Provide technical support for donor contract management, including overseeing the deliverables, work plans and logframes, and ensuring compliance with the donor requirements.
- Support the Head of Programs in the drafting and compiling reports (both narrative and financial) and act as a focal point for donor communication to ensure timely and high quality submissions.
- Organization of Project review meetings, ensuring follow up of action points for smooth coordination for project implementation.
3. Quality Assurance and Standards, Quality Control of Ongoing Projects, Strategy
- Support Head of Projects and Head of Programs with field visits and internal control on project documentation, field visits and perform regular audits of project documentation quality control and filing.
- Serves as country focal point for Grant Management. Develops and provides regular training to program staff on donor compliance, project management system (ProMIS), basic forecasting and budgeting and other topics identified in capacity assessment.
- Support the Head of Programs in ensuring that all project documents, reports, donor communications, and sub-grant agreements are properly archived and uploaded in accordance with ProMIS guidelines.
- In coordination with Head of Programs, develop and review the Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) to support smooth implementation of the projects on the ground.
- n Coordination with Head of Meal and Head of Finance, ensure M&E findings and BVA analysis are available, and results are presented in project review meetings.
- Professional/ formal qualification
Training with additional qualification (e.g. technician, vocational college)
- Job-related professional experience
5 to 7 years' professional experience working in the global South
- Foreign language skills
Fluency in English, Arabic and Kurdish language
- Miscellaneous
Ability to cope in a tropical climate
