- Support the Logistics department in day-to-day tasks and other departments as needed.
- Monitor the organization’s fleet at the base of operations.
- Adhere to security rules as per WHH regulations.
- Drive office vehicles as scheduled; transport staff members and partners for office-related matters and field visits.
- Collect and deliver official documents and letters (messenger services).
- Pick up and deliver equipment, purchases, and supplies.
- Maintain radio or mobile phone contact with the base on a regular basis while in the field.
- Keep the vehicle’s logbook up to date.
- Maintain and clean office vehicles (inside and outside) on a regular basis.
- (Re)fuel vehicles as required.
- Check oil, water, brakes, and clutch fluids daily; check tire pressure, battery water, and overall vehicle condition monthly or every 5,000 km (whichever comes first).
- Test lights, brakes, and bodywork for dents or damage.
- Report suspected mechanical problems immediately, ideally before they escalate.
- Immediately report any involvement of office vehicles in accidents, even minor ones, as well as any damage or theft of equipment.
- Keep car tools in good technical condition and perform minor repairs when possible.
- Maintain first-aid kits in all vehicles.
- Provide timely reports on necessary repairs or maintenance needs.
- Update knowledge of security, road conditions, and effective routes daily using all available information (including traffic news); exchange information with other drivers and security officers.
- Ensure that only Welthungerhilfe personnel and implementing partners are allowed as passengers.
- Ensure vehicles are not on the road between sunset and sunrise, unless an exception has been approved by management.
- Load/unload and set up/dismantle equipment being transported to and from the office.
- Job-related professional experience
Up to 12 months' professional experience, experience with INGOs is an asset - Kurdish and Arabic languages are required with basic English language.
- Valid driver's license, C and above is an asst.
- Strong commitment to safety.
