Community Health Educator

Main purpose of the job:

Prepare, provide and present health education sessions to the population/patients according MSF principles and values in order to promote health information through health measures and hygiene conditions as well as provide information about MSF activities in order to facilitate access to healthcare.

الغرض الرئيسي من الوظيفة:

إعداد وتقديم  وتنفيذ دورات التوعية الصحية للسكان / المرضى وفقا لمبادئ منظمة أطباء بلا حدود وقيمها بهدف تعزيز الوعي الصحي والممارسات السليمة للنظافة، ، فضلا عن تقديم معلومات عن أنشطة منظمة أطباء بلا حدود من أجل تسهيل الحصول على الرعاية الصحية

• Prepare material and deliver health education sessions, messages and topics addressed to different populations regarding hygiene, diseases and prevention.
• Ensure all the patients and caretakers are well informed, according to protocols, about health-related issues and services provided.
• Monitor health situation and living conditions of the population by conducting nutritional screening, collecting information related to food security, checking vaccination status of children, looking actively for any defaulters in programs that require this type of research, collecting information on number of people arriving or leaving the community, births and deaths in the community, etc.
• Identify people with medical problems, contact with medical team and report for immediate transfer if needed. He/she has to inform to the line manager about any problem encountered (population, equipment, material…).
• Report to line manager of all results of screening and visits on a regular basis

• إعداد المواد وتقديم جلسات التثقيف الصحي، والرسائل، والمواضيع الموجهة لمختلف الفئات السكانية حول النظافة، والأمراض، والوقاية.
• ضمان إطلاع جميع المرضى ومقدمي الرعاية بشكل جيد، وفقًا للبروتوكولات، على القضايا الصحية والخدمات المقدمة.
• مراقبة الوضع الصحي وظروف معيشة السكان من خلال إجراء فحص غذائي، وجمع المعلومات المتعلقة بالأمن الغذائي، والتحقق من حالة تطعيم الأطفال، والبحث بنشاط عن أي متخلفين عن البرامج التي تتطلب هذا النوع من البحث، وجمع معلومات عن عدد الوافدين أو المغادرين للمجتمع، والمواليد والوفيات فيه، إلخ.
• تحديد الأشخاص الذين يعانون من مشاكل صحية، والتواصل مع الفريق الطبي، والإبلاغ عن نقلهم فورًا عند الحاجة. يجب عليه/عليها إبلاغ المدير المباشر بأي مشكلة يواجهها (السكان، المعدات، المواد...).
• إبلاغ المدير/المسؤولة بجميع نتائج الفحص والزيارات بشكل منتظم.

• Participate in the adaption of tools and messages ( inclusion of misconceptions related to the HP topic, suggestions on contextualisation( picutres, wording etc) , pretesting and feedback)
• Link community to facility either DOH or MSF( according to the admission criteria) through active referrals, gathering information ( needs, concerns, security ) and feedback
• Participate in conducting surveys through assessments on knowledge, perceptions attitudes, beliefs of the community on specific topics and MSF acceptance for deeper understaniding of community needs and intervention.
• Engage with the community to increase understanding of MSF and it’s services emphasizing on admission criteria and demystifying rumors about the organisation.
• With support of the HP supervisor and collaboration with the MSF supported PHCC, sensitize the communities linked to the PHCC on the different health topics through orangised sessions in schools, community actors( private midwives, volunteers, association etc), and the general community( market places , shops etc).
• Conduct health education and information awareness sessions in the different departments of the Nablus hospital according to plan and the needs of the community, and report to line manager any challenges faced and need to improve.
• Attends meeting and training as proposed by the Organization in order to engage in a continue development of his/her skills
• Respects all protocols and measures put in place for COVID19 prevention, IPC , Waste segration and maintain a consistent followup and education on these topics.
• Proactively report to line manager activities, challenges faced and suggestion to improve activities and health services quality for the benefit of the target population.
• Flexibility to perform activities according to the assigned location to include community , Nablus hospital ( either night or day shift)
• Capacity to carry out tasks related to his/her profession with excellent quality in adherance to MSF protocols (and other protocols in place) while respecting and observing MSF principle
• Daily and Accurate documentation of all sessions conducted and provide the to the HP supervisor.

• التواصل مع المجتمع لزيادة فهم منظمة أطباء بلا حدود وخدماتها، مع التركيز على معايير القبول، وإزالة الغموض عن الشائعات حول المنظمة.
• بدعم من مشرف الصحة النفسية، وبالتعاون مع مركز الرعاية الصحية الأولية المدعوم من منظمة أطباء بلا حدود، يتم توعية المجتمعات المرتبطة بمركز الرعاية الصحية الأولية حول مختلف المواضيع الصحية من خلال جلسات منظمة في المدارس، والجهات الفاعلة المجتمعية (القابلات الخاصات، والمتطوعين، والجمعيات، إلخ)، والمجتمع بشكل عام (الأسواق، والمتاجر، إلخ).
• إجراء جلسات توعية وتثقيف صحي في مختلف أقسام مستشفى نابلس وفقًا للخطة واحتياجات المجتمع، وإبلاغ المدير المباشر بأي تحديات تواجهه وتحتاج إلى تحسين.
• حضور الاجتماعات والتدريبات التي تقترحها المنظمة من أجل الانخراط في التطوير المستمر لمهاراته.
• احترام جميع البروتوكولات والتدابير الموضوعة للوقاية من كوفيد-19، والوقاية من العدوى ومكافحتها، وفصل النفايات، والحفاظ على متابعة مستمرة وتثقيف حول هذه المواضيع.
• الإبلاغ بشكل استباقي عن الأنشطة والتحديات التي تواجهها واقتراحات تحسين جودة الأنشطة والخدمات الصحية لصالح الفئة المستهدفة.
• المرونة في أداء الأنشطة وفقًا للموقع المخصص بما في ذلك المجتمع ومستشفى نابلس (سواء في وردية ليلية أو نهارية).
