Activities, Tasks, Expected Outputs
The Community Facilitator will mainly support the forumZFD Iraq implementation of `Communities in Dialogue in Ayadiya and Tal Afar` in Ninewa governorate under the direct supervision of Project Manager at Ayadiya-forumZFD Salam Centre in close cooperation with forumZFD Project Manager in Erbil office. The Community Facilitator will ensure that the tasks are accomplished in a timely manner according to the agreed timeline, budget and adhering to forumZFD policy and Do-No-Harm principles.
- Mobilize the participation of the community members including women and girls for the project activities.
- Conduct outreach activities into the communities of Ayadiya, Tal Afar including of all accessible villages in the area.
- Assist and support to plan and implement all relevant activities in the framework of the Communities in Dialogue Project in Ayadiya and Tal Afar.
- Plan, provide training and capacity-building support to community members within the framework of the Communities in Dialogue Project in Ayadiya and Tal Afar.
- Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events to promote dialogue and collaboration within the framework of the Communities in Dialogue Project in Ayadiya and Tal Afar.
- Conduct community needs assessments, context and conflict analysis and identify key issues and priorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and partner organizations adhering to the Do-No-Harm principles and forumZFD principles.
- Coordinate and support community-led initiatives and projects within the framework of the Communities in Dialogue Project in Ayadiya and Tal Afar.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of the activities within the framework of the Communities in Dialogue Project in Ayadiya and Tal Afar.
- Prepare reports and documentation on efforts of the Communities in Dialogue Project.
- Other related tasks based on need and agreement.
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, community development, or a related field.
- Proven experience in community facilitation, preferably in an NGO or development context.
- Strong understanding of community dynamics, social issues, and participatory approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse community members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good organizational skills.
- Knowledge of local culture, customs, and languages.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Commitment to promoting inclusivity, gender equality, and human rights.
- Experience in conducting/facilitating workshops for diverse actors.
- Field experience in Ninewa Governorate Iraq, preferably with a range of civil society organizations, authorities, and local actors.
- Knowledge of conflict resolution and peacebuilding programming is an asset.
- Understanding of rights-based approach, conflict sensitivity and do no harm approaches is an asset.
- Reasonable fluency in English, excellent knowledge of Arabic. Knowledge of Turkman language is an asset.
Cooperative spirit, ability to work with a variety of actors (communities, civil society actors, partner organizations, authorities, and project staff).
