Security Advisor*
in Duhok
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until 31.12.2025. Employment location will be Duhok,in KRI. The position is paid according to SG8 (4,459,000 IQD) as Gross Salary .

Effective and efficient design of security management (Safety & Security) in the overseas structures by request of and as per the specifications of Welthungerhilfe's Executive Board, with the aim of identifying possible risks for the organisation, projects and staff along with partner organisations in a timely manner, and initiating measures to reduce the risks.
The Security Advisor is responsible for the operational implementation of security management and the proper use of funds. He/She advises the Country Director (CD) /Regional Director (RD) with regard to coordination, planning and implementation and ensures proper and timely reporting to CD/RD, the Security Advisor in Bonn and the Regional Directorate of Welthungerhilfe.

2.1. Duties with own area of responsibility
- Implement security analyses (risk analyses) on-location and at the project locations.
- Analyse, prepare and document security-relevant information.
- Prepare and implement security plans and standard operating procedures
- Supervise the planning and implementation of projects in adherence to security-relevant aspects. The post holder works together with individuals in charge of programmes and projects, and supports the integration of security concerns into programme and project planning and the on-going processes of programme implementation.
- He/She assists the projects in the host country in adapting security management to local conditions and ensures that existing security plans and guidelines are consistently adhered to by all employees.
- Technical support and support for project personnel in the area of security management and the budgeting of security-relevant measures.
- Represents Welthungerhilfe and participates in national/international security networks in coordination with other organisational units in charge at Welthungerhilfe.
- Organises security training for national staff and partner organisations. Adjusts and enhances curricula according to the changing framework conditions in the host country in coordination with the Security Advisor at the head office.

- Technical preparation for visits (journalists, employees from the head office, representatives of co-financing donors etc.), taking into account the security plans and current security situation.
- Performs other tasks which arise during the course of an assignment in the country
2.3 Specific Activities and duties of the position
To be filled in or described individually by the Country Director or immediate superior
- The position is part time, 75%. It is expected the position holder will spend at least 1 week per month in Erbil or other bases as required
- Responsible for the monitoring of the security and safety for the country, with focus in the Northern Region. Management of security officer based in Baghdad for the Southern Region
- Representation of WHH in relevant coordination mechanisms, online and in person meetings
- Support in base closure/opening in regards to planning, transportation, engagement with relevant authorities, transfer and storate of assets, or any other task in close coordination with External relations and Access Expert and Logistics department
- Development and regular update of Area security plans
- Updating of risk matrix for the Country
- Development of Bi-weekly security updates for all staff
- University degree
- 5 to 7 years' professional experience working in similar position with relevant tasks and responsibilities
Foreign language skills
- Fluency in English ,Kurdish and Arabic (written and spoken),
