Job Summary
The Hope and Healing Program meets the physical and mental needs of vulnerable families in Sinjar through mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS). The Program Coordinator (PC) assists Program Manager with providing professional leadership and supervision of national staff. The PC position will oversee development of MH treatment plans, providing training and supervision for mental health programming activities. PC will develop and maintain working relationships with medical clinics and mental health practitioners throughout the area to ensure beneficiaries have access to the services they need. Additional responsibilities include ongoing trainings for the MHPSS staff as well as development and implementation of groups, workshops and implement community events to increase awareness about mental health and wellness.
Job Duties:
1) Provides professional leadership to national staff by vision casting, troubleshooting, advising, improving systems, coaching, encouraging communication between staff members, and building a positive office environment.
2) Measures and evaluates programmatic activities and supports with writing monthly reports.
3) Provides active guidance to staff to ensure all activities are planned, prioritized, and carried out according to the program logframe and work plan.
4) Leads MHPSS and other related activities according to Samaritans Purse policies and with awareness of legal and cultural requirements. Ensures an effective monitoring and evaluation system is established and implemented for the project in line with ministry policies to measure impact of the program.
5) Supports the program manager and Hope & Healing program team in procurement, administrative processes, and day-to-day implementation. Other duties may be assigned that are not specifically identified with the content of the job description.
6) Oversee the schedule and implementation of MHPSS activities including the leading of classes for children and adults, follow up visits, distributions, etc.
7) Collect, sign and submit timesheets and leave requests to PM as requested by SPI HR department.
8) Submit weekly and monthly reports to the PM and assist with the submission of semiannual report and annual reports.
9) Support staff in the collection of impact stories that qualitatively capture programs work.
10) Work with PM to develop and communicate larger program vision in line with Samaritans Purse mission and goals.
11) Focus on completing tasks by deadlines and compare beneficiary attendance with the M&E Workbook.
12) Report concerns regarding beneficiaries or their families to PM in timely manner.
13) Plan and facilitate community outreach event for old and new beneficiaries.
14) Ensure adherence to SPI procurement, Security and HR policy.
15) Refer beneficiaries to services outside of our scope as needed, including medical and Psychological assistance.
16) Provide coverage in the absence of PM.
17) Participate in SPI Annual Picnic, staff debriefing and other staff development activities.
18) Attend and contribute to regular team meetings.

Education / Experience Needed
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, Psychology, Psychiatry or related Mental Health field (required)
- Master's Degree in Mental Health related field (preferred)
- 3+ years working with NGO in mental health related activities
-3+ years' experience supervising development and implementation of treatment planning
-3+ year experience working directly with beneficiaries
LANGUAGE
- fluent in Arabic written and verbal (required)
- Shingali Kurdish (required)
