Detailed Responsibilities Duties and responsibility will include but not be limited to the following: • Daily feeding, exercise, grooming, and overall health and welfare of his assigned dog • Daily cleaning and maintenance of kennel house and surrounding walking areas for the IEDSD. • For maintaining the daily proficiency obedience training and mine detection of his assigned dog under guidance from IEDSD Trainer • Assisting with the maintenance of the kennels and exercise area • Assisting with the maintenance of the Mine Dog training fields • Assisting other handlers as necessary with training or other issues • Ensuring that there is an adequate supply of dog food and clean water in the field and at the kennel. • The security of the IEDSD and other personnel by leashing the IEDSD’s at all times. • The IEDSD safe and comfortable travel to and from the work sites. • Report all IEDSD issues to the IEDSD Supervisor or IEDSD Unit Leader Capacity building and HR • Build and maintain good working relationships with all MAG staff to maximise capacity building objectives. • Potential future operational IEDSD handler based on ability and commitment. General Responsibilities • Work within the framework of MAG’s core values • Act as an ambassador for MAG. • Contribute to other fundraising initiatives where appropriate. • Participate in meetings, networks, seminars and conferences where relevant and beneficial to MAG and its mission and mandate. Where requested, give appropriate presentations in co-ordination with Country Director

Person selection criteria The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following attributes: • Must have the ability to read and write in the local language • Ability to work as part of a team. • High level of self motivation. • An understanding of NGOs. • A commitment to humanitarian work. • Ability to travel/ stay in the field when necessary. • Prepared to work in a dog environment • Must be physically and mentally fit for duty work during none operational hours, weekends and operational stand downs. • Be prepared to carry out duty work during evenings, weekends and operational stand downs, the job requires 24 hour guard shifts. • An excellent command of spoken and written Arabic and Kurdish
